Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids? Sounds pretty familiar

Sounds like Ross Lee's Ghoulies to me.
I think i know what youre talking about, as i remember it is cbbc or citv, an indian looking man in red robes with a candle next to him and he opens this big red book and tells 'scary stories' i think that might be a horrible histories segment though
In all fairness I don't remember much of this show so details are going to be slightly vague. The show included smaller horror themed shows inside the main show. The host himself was young, with if I recall, black hair, a striped black and white long sleeved shirt and red braces. He had a hand in a jar (I think i was a hand). One of the types of sub stories would always begin with a narrator who opened the book next to a candle and I think there was a fireplace. Another show was a parody of Eastenders called 'Beastenders'. I want to say the hand mentioned earlier tormented the host however I am not 100% sure this was the case.
I should add that this show aired in the UK during the summer months of either 2007 or 2008. Thanks for any help as I have not been able to find absolutely anything on this show. Shows i'm 90% sure are not the show I'm looking for: Goosebumps, Beetlejuice, Bone Chillers, Are You Afraid of the Dark Scaredy Camp, The Haunting Hour.
