Check the Science Show page. I thought maybe the second one was Beakman's World, but I couldn't find any indication that there was a head in a jar character.
Thanks, but I know Beakman's World, and know for sure it was not it, or anything with a similar format. I will take a look at shows listed on that page to see if I find it. 3-2-1 Contact is sounding possible, but I'll have to look more into it first. If it wasn't that, it was something with a similar format.
I just watched an episode of 3-2-1 Contact. I haven't completely ruled it out, but the episode I saw didn't have as many segments as I think the second show I saw had. I guess I should have specified in the first post that it was made up of short, mostly unrelated segments similar to Sesame Street, but mostly or all live action. I thought I'd describe the best I can the few segments I remember from specific episodes I saw, besides the head in a jar.:
-An older man with glasses who talked about stuff in more that one episode, I remember him having a big bowl or hat of fruit in one. He was in a small room alone similar to some segments of Sesame Street, might have been a light blue room.
-A segment that talked about Slinkies, possibly how they work/are made, and different kinds. It showed various footage while someone talked over it.
-A segment where some guy sang a song, might have been rap or something. It was nighttime, and I think he was in a car for part of it. All I remember is part of the song where he said something about asking his boss something, but his boss didn't know how to count.
I know it might be very hard to find a show from just a few single segments from specific episodes this vague, but this is just driving me nuts. It seems like the very nature of shows with this kind of format makes them hard to find unless they're extremely famous, or you remember a major common segment specifically. A lot of segment information for these kind of shows just isn't online. Maybe this really was Newton's Apple, I'm not ruling that out yet either. But this stuff is just so hard to confirm without watching a lot. I was a little too young and didn't understand a lot of this show well. Some parts were too boring for me.

When I was about six, I had two science shows meant for kids a bit older on VHS(this was around 2003-2004, and these could have been fairly old.) I just can't find either.
The first one I think I had several tapes of. It is extremely likely this one was made by NASA, because I think I found them years later but didn't mess with them. It involved a group of kids, doing and talking about different science things, and visiting places like field trips. I think their main place was a clubhouse. There were parts of it with an animated skunk newscaster on TV.
The other one I feel might be harder to find, though more likely to have been something that actually aired on TV. I had one tape with like 6 episodes. This one consisted of various short segments. One segment in like four of the episodes I had was about a talking head in a green jar. In one of the episodes, he looked different, so I think it was from a different season. I suspected this one might have been Newton's Apple, but I could find no evidence of such a character in it. Could have missed it though.
