It's sad to see a site once viewed as the independent rebels against "the bureaucrat execs" (being Youtube back in the day) now behaving just like what they once fought. And it seems this post also reveals Doug does have some knowledge and involvement in what's going on.

Producers get Ad Revenue, but the percentage they do receive has shrunk.
, Funny thing is Spoony cast shade on this happening not long after he left the site. He mentioned in his TBF commentary how there was discontent amongst the producers based on how things were being ran, and how none of them really profit from the site or anniversary specials.

Doug is passive. He's not actively shitty like Rob and ESPECIALLY Mike. He just sits back with his fingers in his ears over all the shit CA pulls. He tacitly allows abuse and deceit and just handwaves it. A lesser evil, but an evil nonetheless. Mike is sort of the big bulldog of hatred and Rob kinda minces words and gives people the runaround. All three of them form a system that only cares about themselves and treats the producers like obnoxious burdens to be bullied. Sorry. I didn't want to break anyone's hearts over it. But if it's out in the open anyway, I won't deny it. Sorry for the bummer.
Allison's post is all 100% true to the best of my knowledge, firsthand or secondhand. Lindsay's departure was unrelated to Allison's of course, so I'm not sure why it's mentioned, but apart from that, all the pure facts.

Umm.. hee heeh... I'm not so sure if something like To Boldly Flee, or even the FIRST special with the Critic vs. AVGN, will ever happen again. Why feature guest creators on a company's film if they don't get paid by the company?? Keep in mind, the last anniversary special was a compilation of 6 short films each done by a separate creator in their home state. Doug BARELY EVER features a guest who traveled miles and miles just to be in his reviews since he returned in 2013!
Should they REALLY be spreading this news around when they just brought in new creators to fill CA's site to make them look like they're still a big happy family??? I fear for those new people.

Honestly it's sort of how I figured Doug would be. He never struck me as someone who gets involved in conflicts - for good or for bad. So hearing that his attitude is staying out of it... sound's about right.
Yeah, Doug was always stated not to be involved in the company's businness stuff but, c'mon, he could at least try to put some stop to the abuse.
I wonder if Walkers and/or Michaud are going to address the whole mess. Mike does have an account on SA forums ("Attilla the Fun", IIRC), he used to post there back when Demo Reel was about to launch.

They've never really addressed any of the past controversy beyond the most sanitized statements on the main page, I don't see them starting now. Especially since addressing this might stir up others who have remained mostly silent.
4 of their formally major contributors left nearly en masse and exposed the way they were treated by the company down to Mike's very behavior! How is that not a reason to finally address all this!?

Meh, ultimately it shows what I expected: Patreon made them lose authority and control. Mike and Co could "bully" producers into doing whatever before, because you'd need the exposure from them to get that ad revenue. But now with Patreon, many people aren't as dependent on them, especially when they have their own viewership, and many of those viewers won't mind giving you 2 bucks for you work,
I feel bad for the people who just got on CA. Wonder if any are listening to this and already regret it.
Oh man, I'm staff at a con with CA/former CA people. It was bad enough last year with the JW thing... And I'm also pretty much the only one left running formerly TGWTG Secrets.
In other news, CA started uploading the producers' trailer on their Vimeo.
