Just because we moved it to RP doesn't mean WAOA is suddenly SERIOUS BUSINESS.
This. It honestly should have been moved to RP long ago, but it's still the same thread. It's pretty much the least structured, most accessible RP out there, and I like it that way. Lemurian expressed concern to me before, during the whole vampire business, that he, I, Katrika, and Game Guru GG
, as the most active members of the thread, might accidentally be dominating the thread with these grand plot arcs and making newcomers feel like they might not be able to just jump right in. Now, telling these big stories is a lot of fun, but we ought to try and ensure that we're not being control freaks. That's not the point of WAOA. There is no one GM. The emphasis here ought to be accessibility and flexibility. The fun of this stems from the fact that it doesn't take place in one predetermined setting and we can have characters from all different places interacting with each other, I think. We jump all over the place, so it's natural we might have to put one story aside for a while and come back to it later.
That's my thoughts on the matter. Sorry if I was a bit long-winded.
Too Long Didn't Read version: everyone should try to be flexible and accommodating of their fellow RPers, and everybody should have a shot at running the show if they want.
