Harry Potter-Pokemon

I don't know what's possessed me but have an idea and it won't leave me alone. Basically taking the characters of Harry Potter in the Pokemon world. Well, heck, I did need to work on some big epic project that didn't include my usual OCs.

.....Oh...Sure, Why Not?

So, Which season should I use? What jobs would the characters have that would resemble their original jobs? I plan on keeping the same progressively darker theme. How do I make it resemble the darkness of the original? Any suggestions for this insane ambitious undertaking?

It may be nuts but I know there's a way to make this work.

Why Harry Potter characters?

(shrug) dunno it was just two popular things I thought of.

But like I said, it stuck. I got some advice form a friend and I think I can make this work.

Pokemon are distributed to people in the same way as wands are.

Screw that, let's cut to the chase.

Voldemort is the donor of the DNA that is used to clone Mewtwo. You don't even need a plot.

Sorry. That was kind of rude of me, really. I was just saying "no plot!" to express how thrilling that thought was.

Anyway, taking this seriously. Pokemon distribution would be similar to wand selling. One of the Pokemon Centers would have to be St. Mungo's.

I can see schools not being heavily featured in Pokemon as a problem, while Hogwarts is the main setting in HP. I don't know how you'd get around that.

I'd suggest moving the starting point to Celadon city (or region equivelant) because it's the shopping district, somewhat equal to Diagon Alley.

You get accepted into Hogwarts at 11. You start Pokemon training at 10. Close enough.

You can have Snape clones take the place of the Officer Jenny clones, and Hagrid could be Nurse Joy. Dumbledore would of course take Prof. Oak's place, and Voldemort as Giovanni.

Officer Jenny? Nah, Snape's totally a gym leader.

LOL! But you have to let us read this!

Harry wakes up on "privet drive" and goes to DR. DUMBLEDORE to get his first pokemon! (lol maybe he names it 'hedwig') and of course Malfoy is his RIVAL.

He is the 'boy who lived' from somesuperdiaster probably caused by Voldemort somehow-in-pokeverse

Suggestion: Pokemon eggs have an unpredictable incubation period. Perhaps they only hatch after a certain 'trigger' (Fire types only hatch after being exposed to Fire, for instance). This allows a rewrite of the 'twin wands' relationship between Voldemort and Harry: their primary Pokemon come from the same clutch of eggs. Voldemort hatched his ages ago, brought it to its final evolution, and used it to wreak havoc. Harry collects his from Professor Oakdoor.

Suggestion: Instead of 'Parseltongue', Harry and Voldemort both speak 'Poketongue', giving them unparalleled control over Pokemon (or perhaps just one species/family).

Suggestion: You want to make Pokemon progressively darker? Just make the characters progressively more aware of the basic premise. Children leave home at the age of ten to enslave intelligent creatures, and force them to engage in blood sports and assist in the enslavement of other intelligent creatures. What Measure Is A Non-Human could be examined.
