Not the weirdest thing I've seen in Disgaea.
Try harder Jehovahman.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I just saw one of the harpy demons dropping off a black Darkdeath Evilman (robot) in the Item World as a boss on a stream.
I got to prowling the D5 site on a whim, and they are going back to using portrait for the stat sheets instead of just close ups of the sprites!
This is the stupidest thing to be happy over, but DD2 getting rid of portraits really bugged me.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Asagi got good.
For all the wide variety of painful things that Disgaea normally includes in its skills, I can't remember the last time anybody used actual grenades.
On a less enthusiastic note, remember that misunderstood joke where the director (or someone similar) was betting his job on D5's success? Sure enough, it got hit the hardest by the opening week onslaught.

Disgaea 5 got released, and here I am, too poor and too Russian to play any beyond the second one T_T

So apparently there was a D5 demo (the TGS one) on the JPN PSN. Does anyone here have access to it? Was it ever released for free (the only way to get the code was to buy the issue of Dengeki Play Station apparently)?
Lurker ExtraordinaireIt was for a limited time. After awhile, it was pulled from PSN and those with the demo couldn't use it anymore (kinda like what Aksys did with Guilty Gear Xrd). Not sure if another was released.
Dammit. Thanks for the info.

Lurker ExtraordinaireI have a bit of a screwball question; when does NIS usually send out their yearly Japanese business greeting card things?
Usually some time between April and July.

The official box cover art for Disgaea 5 is revealed.
...where's Zeroken???
Oh, hey, it's just the very first artwork we ever saw of D5, before we knew what it was. Huh.
Well, it's not a bad piece of artwork, and I know NISA has limited options, since they tend to avoid the "group shot of everyone alongside all the generics" that the Japanese covers use (NISA instead uses that image for the manual)
It's possible the character didn't exist at the time the art was made. Again, this is like the very first D5 art ever unveiled.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.No, Zeroken is on the Summer Greetings card, it's that NISA for some reason completely removed him from the image.

Probably because with how the image is cropped, we'd only see his leg.
Leg ninjas.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.NISA's already cropped out Zeroken's leg.
Look at the image again. Then look at the cover. With the cropping of the image compared to the cover, only the ninja's leg would be shown on the cover, so they removed it entirely.
I mean, it's graphic design 101. Leaving the leg there would be sloppy.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Yeah, I know that. I'm just disappointed that NISA would remove one of the main characters from the game's cover. Especially since it's a character I like.

Well, also remember that Vulcanus 2 wasn't on the cover for D4, despite being the main heroine.
In fairness, I don't think NISA intentionally cropped her out or anything, it seems she just wasn't in the artwork to begin with, which is kinda weird. Flonne made it on, after all.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Probably to hide spoilers.
