Fire Emblem

Random thought: seeing how Mother 1 got a world wide release for the first time through Virtual Console and also re-titled to Earthbound Beginnings nearly 26 years after it's initial Japanese release, I'm sort of hoping we'd get the untranslated Fire Emblem games in there in time.

Atleast ones that don't have a remake version up for grabs already, like Shadow Dragon.

... you know, Roy was popular enough to get demanded back into Smash, but his game has never seen a localized release. You'd think that they would had figured to localize and release Binding Blade on the eshop at the same time when he was announced to take advantage of them promoting/hyping each other.

Earthbound Beginnings already had an official unused translation way back from the NES days. Not much effort to fix it up for a nice surprise for the fans. Don't take that as any sort of indicator for older Fire Emblems or Mother 3.

Of the untranslated games I'm pretty interested in 4,6, and 12. I don't really want to go through the hassle required to obtain, translate, and play the games.

My next FE game will definitely be 7, though. Just gonna have to wait a while.

One more Fates question. Sorry, I'm just really interested in the mechanics of this game but don't want to risk plot spoilers, is all.

Regarding the capture mechanic, can captured bosses such as Nacht or Draj reclass? Or are they stuck as Revenant Knight and Adventurer, respectively, for example? Also, I know they have no Supports, but do they have critical hit and level-up quotes or are they totally mute?

Captured characters are regarded as whatever their base class would have been and nothing else for purposes of parallel seals. So if Nacht was a Wyvern Rider, he wouldn't be able to use a Parallel Seal. However, Nacht is a Revenant Knight which is one branch of the Wyvern Rider's promotion, so he is able to Parallel Seal into Wyvern Lord. Same with Draj (who can reclass to Bow Knight) and other captured enemies. Interestingly, while Nacht and Draj do not have level up quotes, they do have critical hit quotes.

Likely because Robin's class isn't technically considered a Lord class (and the fact that Robin used to be an Avatar). It's still rather limited in comparison to Awakening thanks to Robin being considered a character now.

Resetless Lunatic+ time, hopefully with less throws.

I hope the price of this game won't be too much for two games and dlc...

Oi, five days without posts... Welp, doing more Resetless Lunatic+, anyway.

Not much new to talk about.

I finished my third Awakening file a few days ago and moved on to a fourth, this time to wed female Robin to all the males in the army.

Male Robin's final wife was Anna. I think I'll make female Robin's final husband be Gangrel.

Fates is coming soon. I love FE but I don't know if I want to buy two versions of the same game.

Fates does not work that way. You buy the game, and if you get both the other path and the third path as DLC, you'll have paid less than a console game costs nowadays.

Not to mention, Hoshido and Nohr are quite different as far as gameplay goes.

I mean, they obviously share a base engine, but they're no more the same game than the three GBA games are.

I guess, but I don't like digital copies of games unless there is no other way to obtain them so I'll probably pick up both versions physically.
