@RJW: How much health does the Falchion heal when used as an item?

Fun fact: you know you're underleveled for a paralogue when your characters, Robin included, are wimpy enough for a Hero wielding a Bolt Axe to make the difference between being screwed and having a fighting chance (it was Lunatic Nah's paralogue being done right after Morgan's paralogue, which was done right after completing C13). >.>

Alfac: That's a pretty interesting way to do magic. I haven't played more than the first few maps of FE1, but I was quite intrigued by the way Shadow Dragon emulated that.

Of course in Shadow Dragon there's an actual Magic stat/growths now (though Resistance is generally low across the board).

Yeah, that's why I said emulated. Still really interesting as someone who came into the series at a point where much higher Res was the norm.

Just a quick note that in the Wii U E-Shop release of Shadow Dragon, certain items exclusive to the Online Shop (Elysian Whips, Wo Dao, and Brave weapons) can be bought without needing to connect to the Internet (since the old Nintendo WFC servers no longer exist).

You still have to wait to buy them at specific times of the month though. But hey, at least you still have access to the Falcoknight class!

Oh, well that's nice that they accounted for the disabled online content.

Much more than can be said for the Wii U port of Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I still don't know why Falcoknights are called that.

I think there are more legendary axes in Fire Emblem lore than all other legendary axes from all other properties combined. Funny thought.

And yet there's still far fewer Axes than Swords.

Ayup. It goes to show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

There are so many legendary swords that they end up applying multiple legendary swords to singular sword-wielding characters, like Marth and Lyn. Think about that. There is such a surplus of legendary swords that some heroes need to double-down on destiny.

Meanwhile, there's like a handful of legendary axes, maybe a couple more spears and bows. Legendary whips are so scarce an entire family needs to share one.

Idea.

A legendary bow with balista ranges instead of high damage.

A Legendary Bow that is actually a .357 Magnum.

Which would be a secret weapon in the Postapocalyptic future of Fire Emblem in the spinoff game Ashen Emblem.

A child from an even further future than Lucina comes back with it.

Leads to something like this.◊

@A few pages back: Dang. I was forcing the western RPG sensibilities on a Japanese game, which looking back, might be a bit silly, but I still kinda stand by those points.

@Imca: Sounds cool, but it also sounds pretty tricky to balance. It would either suck hard or be way too good.

If siege tomes can be good, but not broken, I'm sure they can design a bow in a similar vein.

Or just say "screw it" and throw in the Gatling Bow from Tear Ring Saga.

Y'know Brave weapons? It's like that, but it gets four shots in instead of two.

Falco Knight is best for Palla in Shadow Dragon, everyone else prefers Draco Knight, even Palla might prefer Draco Knight. The reason you might wanna make Palla a wyvern Knight is pretty much due to her above average resistance, and higher then normal defense growth.

Also love the US localization for Shadow Dragon.

The playable Generics having names like names like "Lucer", "Owend" "Wymp", and "Auffle."
