It's possible to do the same using the east portion of the river against half of the first wave. This allows Robin to get to level 3 before engaging the second wave.

that feeling you get when Robin misses his Thunder attack, and the enemy mage scores a critical hit for a game over
I guess that's what I get for picking +HP/-Luck
Enjoyment and Excitement! To be fair, the Elthunder Mage is going to have listed crit unless you took a Luck Asset.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiOkay, can someone explain to me how to do supports in Blazing Sword? Because I've been putting Erk and Serra next to each other for a while now, and no luck. I got one between Hector and Eliwood, but that was entirely by accident.
I'm surprised it hasn't given a tutorial on them yet, unless I missed it somehow.
Oh God! Natural light! The number of turns units need to park next to each other is excessive in the GBA games. You've done nothing wrong, aside from not accounting for how long the wait would be.
I sure said that! How long do I have to wait?
Oh God! Natural light!Well, let's just say that low turn count runs tend to also not be full support runs.
Also, go make a sandwich, you'll be a while.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed....Great. Is there a chart anywhere that I could look them up for?
Because Hector and Eliwood had a support in no time at all.

Oh God! Natural light! It's gained turn-to-turn. Each support rank needs 80 points to reach the next level and each pair grows at their own rate that reflects how much they like each other. According to SF's chart, Serra and Erk have a 1 growth rate, so you'll have to wait around for 80 turns. If you keep waiting, it's possible to get 79 points toward the next rank in the same map, but no more. Basically, for 1-2 rate of gain pairs, I hope you like grinding. >.>
EDIT: Minor correction: 78 turns for rank C, since they already have 2 base points. 80 for each rank after that.
That's because Eliwood and Hector have 72 starting points and a gain of 3 per turn.

FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiOh, and Erk and Serra are, if not at the top, up there with the supports that take the most time to grind. It's probably my favorite ship in the game and it's totally worth it, but it takes forever. Others won't take you nearly as long, though.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Eliwood and Hector are like Colm and Neimi in Sacred Stones: They support really quickly because they're the characters the game uses to teach you what supports are.
EDIT: Unrelated, but I'm on 2-2 in Radiant Dawn, and I think it's really clever that Nealuchi only has a visibility range of 1 in Fog of War. Kind of annoying, but clever.

...Fuck.
Well, I suppose it makes sense - Erk doesn't really like Serra. I'll consult the chart.
Oh God! Natural light! The methods in both Path of Radiance and Awakening are a marked improvement on the GBA games- Supports are a great element but it's obvious they didn't get it quite right the first time.
I sure said that!Eh, I like Awakening's formula regarding supports over the GBA titles, but Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones had better written supports on average. Probably because of the sheer volume Awakening had along with everyone needing to marry, but still.
But anyway, even if it's nice Gameplay and Story Integration, waiting 80 turns for a single support is way too much. Really should've been cut down.

One more question - can you only do a certain number of supports with each character? I seem to recall reading that somewhere.
Oh God! Natural light!Yes. It's limited to 5 per character.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guySo to elaborate, that means you can have five C ranks, or three C ranks and a B, or two C ranks and an A, and so on. I personally like to go the A-C-C route, but A-B is perfectly valid, too.
I sure said that!Alright, then, Lyn/Hector it is, I suppose.
Oh God! Natural light! The correct choice was actually Lyn/Florina, though.
I sure said that!the only real choice is florina/lyn/hector OT3

I always pegged Hector's wife as being Farina, myself. She looks the most like Lilina, at least, though, granted, she also looks the most like Shanna.
Lyn and Florina presumably headed off for the Outrealms with everyone else who just mysteriously failed to exist in time for Binding Blade. They probably got married and are busy playing Robin Hood somewhere, and not just dead for no reason, right?
I sure said that!Eh, maybe I'll do them instead, I don't know. I already have their B support...
Oh God! Natural light! From advertisements going on Japan, it seems the Nohr Dark Knight's name is revealed to be Leon: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=53567
I'm expecting a unit named Joseph or Lenin next...
Only Chrom and Robin can move onto the river on the Prologue map.◊
Taking advantage of this, Robin can safely attack enemy units without having to worry about a counter-attack. This is mainly used for luring the enemy mage to attack Robin+Lissa on the river while Frederick+Chrom sits nearby and tank hits from the other enemies. Once the mage is taken care of, Robin can pick off the rest one-by-one next turn.
