Lotta fangames releasing demos lately. Good bosses, bad stages, questionable writing, iffy gimmick^note you build up charge for the hyper you select at the start as you collect items... of it's colour. Thus, some items just give point. Others act as bomb/life fragments. Reminds me of the ido games, but worse

The next Touhou game will be a Phantasmagoria game with a kishin as the final boss.

Visionary Fairies in Shrine 11! Another two-parter, so expect another chapter next month. Also color pages.

Speaking of th' mangas, I found the first volume of Forbidden Scrollery in the wild and got it. It's pretty neat. And this is kinda my first time reading through the series in earnest, so that's fun.

I did specify that it's a two parter.

Certain there's only two parts? This felt like less than half

This chapter contains !!EXPERIMENTS!! and fire hazzards.

The way it works in Japanese is that it's called the "front part". I guess technically there could be a middle part in addition to the back part, but I haven't seen that.

Usually it involves white water rafts, helmets, flotation gear and something to help with cold because most canyonng trips like that involve very cold water even in the summer.

Either that or you hike it and climb it with specialized gear such as ropes, helmets and boots.

Though given the canyon in Gensokyo is presently flooded almost to the brim from spring/summer runoff owing to heavy snow loads, hiking it is out of the question so rafting it is. And I've seen those whirlpools in real rivers and streams before, they can get rather nasty to swimmers so a raft is the only reliable (non-kappa) way to travel them.

I now want to see Nitori as Snidely Whiplash, twirling her mustache as her kappa minions tie the hapless fairies to barrels before shoving them down the rapids.

That's just kind of a fun adventure for beings who can't die

Oh, Touhou, I've missed you so! The last weeks have been turbulent and often without Internet, but finally everything's stabilized, and there's two new mangas to return to, nice (Also a completely broken TV Tropes to return to, less nice )

The new WAAAGHHH!!! is Godlike indeed. And so long! Also agree that it has the best reaction faces in years (Love the Easy Modo edit!). Tenshi is a super dick as usual, but this time at least there was a spark of well-meaning to her superdickery. A live view into Komachi's job, very insightful! And the end with Reimu, completely bonkers. Canon Reimu is even worse at takin' care of herself than either me IRL or her until-now-exaggerated-seeming Fanon self. Wow.

Agree with Hylarn, Fairies chapter was super tiny. Very hilarious, yes, but obviously pure setup. We have the "Dragon" title and we have somethin' goin' on with Clown Girl's torch, which will probably cause an incident. But dat last panel, that's some Punishment Time-style meme-worthy pic, like the Easy-Modo-WAGH-one.

Man, this new TV Tropes is just a mess, in more than one way (seriously took me ages to find my way back here on top of loads of other issues). Is the main Touhou page not working for anyone else?

It still feels rather strange to have a fairies chapter being so short, I'm still used to them being one whole story instead of two-parters.
