The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Whoa, didn't know he came back! Gotta prepare my ears for some awesome music, then!
That was hilarious.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I came across something very interesting on YouTube today. A user has been steadily uploading all of ZUN's MIDI works but they're played back on the Roland SC-88 Pro, the exact device ZUN was using to compose his music. The difference in quality between the in-game music and the MIDI's on the SC-88 is profound. Here's an example.
If you have any interest in ZUN's MIDI work, or are interested in hearing the true original versions of the EoSD or Seihou soundtracks, I highly suggest watching through the playlists and checking out the thread on shrinemaiden.org.
Mudkip's final evolution is in fact NOT Mudkipperino.Awesome find! I guess it's kind of like reading something in the original Japanese rather than an English translation (substitute other languages as needed), something much closer to the creator's intent. The ZUNpets sound completely different now, almost closer to ZUNsaphones I guess, and I can make out so many other instruments.
And damn, that "Illusory Science ~ Doll's Phantom!"

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Has anyone ever considered the irony of Hopeless Masquerade, a game about gathering popularity, being the thing that briefly pushed Koishi to the top of the popularity poll?
Or even the fact of the little stone being the most popular.
Heart of StoneWhile it's an interesting exercise, to be honest I find the framing of it as "the way it was meant to be heard" rather insulting. As if ZUN never playtested his games and heard what the music sounds like in practice. Maybe it's "the way it was composed", but if anything, he's had so much experience compensating for the differences by now that what's in game is almost certainly the intended final version. Not to mention, well, the CD remixes of songs that are clearly the "director's cut" versions.
So, yeah, I've been continuously ignoring that thread on shrinemaiden because I literally find it offensive.

While browsing the internet, I happened to come across this on youtube.

It seems pretty much like a Touhou version of Kantai Collection. It requiring you to register an ID. The meat of the game is gathering resources, battling against enemies with no control over characters, completing (daily?) quests etc.
Well, at least from what I have seen, it does not have microtransaction or stuffs like that.
Wow! I'm genuinely surprised, but also happy, that it turned out very good! I was all ready to immediately make mean, snarky comments about how those Walfas collabs are always one awesome Spaztique work, supplemented by low-quality filler. But no, very enjoyable all around this time.
It took the very good formula of the previous Spooktacular, that being a central story based on an actual Touhou Manga story, and delivered great quality. Very glad to see Ceej doing such amazing work both in editing, plotting and animation; the adaptation of the awesome Carnaby chapter was worthy of its sorce material Spaz did great voices as usual; also, the Cthulu and Creepy Doll stories were awesome.
The Marisa voice in the Main Story I especially liked; she had great enthusiasm! It was unusal to have a girly-voice Marisa instead of the usual deeper, tomboyish one, but she pulled it off. Speaking of voices: the ABSOLUTE star of the evening was Remilia Spoiled British brat FTW.
"Mystia is a former German nun“ -Clarste //// "[...]collectively, we have the power to destroy the Aki sandwich" -ClarsteThat was the second time I've heard someone voice act my translations. It's still weird. I mean, they rewrote a lot of it, but there were still a couple lines left intact, and at least one major mistranslation made it through! Must have been based on the rough draft.
"Why don't the protagonists fly more in the manga" is a question that's come up before, and it's not too hard to come up with good reasons, which all basically boil down to "Flying isn't free." If Marisa needs to burn through a mushroom plucked at midnight during a full moon in order to fly, she wouldn't do it for a little thing like climbing to the Tengu Village. She -would-, however, use it for a big thing like not starting a youkai Civil war through Reimu drawing attention to the Tengu.
As long as it takes some sort of resource (Be it magic, reagents, divine favor, sanity or even just attention/focus), and that resource can be better conserved by using mundane means, then better to use the mundane when possible, no? That saves your [resource] for incidents.
I choose to believe they're all going to a costume party and have really terrible imaginations. Yamame being like "I'll go as a Tsuchigumo" and Tojiko like "and I'll be an actually -angry- ghost." Remilia goes as hatless Remilia, etc. Then Kagerou is like "I'll pretend to be a normal human villager" and everone else is like "you're breaking the theme, get out the animal ears and tail." Incidentally, I like how Kagerou has furry arms in that picture, and is trying so hard to hide them (Probably also resulting in her look of panic). It's a nice little detail.
I write some fanfiction. Satori's Tale is done... but I'm not.I know one of the chapters was based on the rough draft, and the other was from the final. I don't remember which was which, though. What was the huge mistranslation?
A bit of an older video, but still funny.

Also, a continuation.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Banki looks weird without her cape.
I think I'm addicted to Touhou MM Ds now.

I like that September Pumpkin arrangement. Though, I do in general like the theme of our orange/apple/pumpkin/dango-themed moon bunny.
