Shrinemaiden.org is the usual Touhou forum I see visited. Then again, for me that place seems to be trying too hard to maintain peace and good image and whatever. And I rarely visits the gameplay sections so I have no idea how they would react to cheating.

From what I remember about Shrinemaiden, they kind of look down at cheating but won't really insult you over it, especially like that.

The main reason people want to cheat at Touhou, as far as I gather, is basically to change its genre, from challenging skill/memorization Shmup to Casual, which I see is its own genre now on mobile devices. The few/few dozen tries it takes to beat the game playing normally are a huge unfun drag to a lot of people and completely unappealing to them. Cheating lets you play the game a couple times, feel what it's like to face the fun or famous parts of the game without the rest of it getting in the way. Or to just pay more attention to the patterns unfolding and not have everything end prematurely.

Also, since there's some kind of bragging happening now, perfect extra clear. When I did this the Touhou Games thread was dead, but we weren't talking about the games in the main one, so I wound up never posting this in any of the Touhou threads.

Casual isn't really a genre.

Google Play counts it as one: Action, Adventure, Arcade, Casual, Strategy, etc. Although they call them categories instead.

Ah, extras. If I recall, I've thus far beat Suwako, Mokou, and Ran. I haven't even unlocked Yukari yet to make the attempt, because PCB's requirements for unlocking Phantasm are... shall we say, overzealous. I would've just made it unlock after you beat Extra, but that's me.

I'm occasionally making attempts at Raiko, but that's a pretty tricky stage. I'm flirting with the idea of clearing the main game with Marisa B, so I could humiliate that extra stage, but that's a last resort. A hilarious one, but a last one.

DDC lets you unlock Extra on Easy, so it's not like getting all the characters available for it is hard

All the talk about how to play the game got me to play PCB again earlier today. I finally reached Yuyuko for the first time. I died quite quickly but I was quite proud that I had finally set a new personal best for the game. (I would always run out of continues against Youmu, you see.)

Mostly frowned upon because Danbooru used to have NSFW ads everywhere (By nature you can still access NSFW content via Danbooru though). Though I just used it for convinience sake. Switching it to source link.

Generally Danbooru links are used if the source links are down (which happen more often than not what with artists deleting old Pixiv stuff for one reason or another).

Dumb question, but... isn't posting Danbooru links frowned upon in this thread, with members preferring to go directly to artists' accounts such as Pixiv?

No, I've never heard of that. It's true that the huge majority of pics that Hylarn posts are on Pixiv (which makes me sad, because it's more of a hassle for me to then get the Booru link for it to save it), but some are on Booru, and I've not heard that this was because of a taboo or anything. But maybe I missed something!

Oh wow, I'm relieved The image I got in my head involved bunnies, since that is the often-used word here for them.

There was a rule against it, because of NSFW ads, but Danbooru removed them ages ago. Dunno how the mods feel about it now, though.

Oh wow, I'm a dumb for not reading Zansnae's post beforehand. But I'm confused, so, since the ads are long gone, there shouldn't be any more problem there, right?

I'm sure that no? I mean, we haven't heard from any mod because of that in foreeeever, ever since the ads went away, so I'd assume we're clear?
