Honestly, why would uniformity be desirable? It's certainly not representative of the series. It's just artificially tacking on a pseudo-uniformity on something it shouldn't stick on.
Check out my fanfiction!Ooh, now this is something rare. Glad to see someone likes the game
@Fantasy Maiden Wars:
From the looks of it, it seems like FMW Eternal(?) has SA, UFO in addition to Imperishable Night. Is Scarlet Weather Rhapsody not on part 3?
@Art for Character Pages:
I don't care about it being uniform, but I want official art. So Zun or any of the artists in the fighting games or mangas would work fine for me. Being a mix and match is not an issue for me.
Everything is relative.This. Official art > Fan art. So what if it's not uniform? The only time fan art is acceptable is when the official art either doesn't really exist or is of non-indicative quality. (Which really means it would only fly for the PC 98 era stuff.)
PC-98 art is totally indicative of quality? I mean, that's what it looks like. Personally I find fanart of them to look really weird, moreso than for the Windows characters.
Anyway, speaking as the only person in this thread who uses official art as my avatar, I have to say "eh". I wouldn't mind having ZUN art for everything, but in my mind what we're trying to portray here isn't art but rather "character designs". As Touhou fans, I'm sure most of you could recognize most characters just by their color schemes alone, and given the number of fanworks in various styles this is actually an incredibly useful skill for this fandom. Honestly what I'd prefer is some kind of diagram rather than an illustration. We're showing the essence of the character's visual design so people can recognize them across multiple artstyles.
Anyway, as diagrams I think standardization is important. Especially since a lot of artists make the characters appear to be different ages: I don't want context to make WAHH-Marisa look younger than FS-Kosuzu or something.

Can I borrow your heart? Or maybe something less hardcore like a hand or even just a blood sample might work. I need it to... uh... fix my washing machine. Yes, we'll go with that.
I make video games! Or plan to, anyway.Nitori was bound to show up for kappa week.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBecause it makes us look more professional/like we actually give a fuck
also personal prefrence
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaBy pretending Touhou has uniformity in the first place and thus lie about what it actually is? Professionalism, Aya-style.
Check out my fanfiction!hisssssssssssssss
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo for Spite Major Tom Day on the 9th I was thinking of switching my avatar to the exact opposite of Cirno. The problem is that I'm not sure what this would be. Any ideas?
Mokou? Utsuho?
Cirno, obviously.
At her adorablest too.
So I'm hearing "dead Cirno". Or someone from another series entirely
If you do Cirno, do the ugliest, most offensive or gory Cirno you can find.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Cirno is not that bright, a fairy, and has cold elemental powers.
So we want someone smart, with a long life span, and has warm elemental powers.
So... something to do with Mokou.
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments.But Cirno does have a long life span.
Check out my fanfiction!And I'm not 100%, but I think that you will probably get in hot water if you have an offensively gory avatar.
I'd say a Klingon would be the anti-Cirno.
I was thinking it was more like many smaller life spans.
I guess Mokou is actually quite similar in that regard.
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments.Interesting! While I was contemplating, apparently everyone already picked Mokou, which... yeah, obviously, fire ^^. I thought it wasn't restricted to Touhou, maybe.
Tricky, however. The criteria for an exact opposite would be a)fire, b)clever/brilliant, c)old/experienced. Loki?
Hmm... I never watched Avatar, but the Big Bad is a Fire Lord, right? Is he old and clever? If yes, that might be it
Hahaa, Uncle Iroh the Anti-Cirno.
I don't think uniformity is a problem with the manga characters. I mean, they're categorized under "Other Official Works", anyway, which implies they're different in a sense from game characters. As for the fighting game characters, maybe put the fighting games in a separate folder instead of following the exact numbering?
Honestly, though, the problem IMO is that we clump everything together under a single "Touhou" page, even though it covers games, manga, and proses. I'm in support of splitting the page into several ones, at least between the games and the other works, and put the characters in their respective work pages.
