So have you guys heard about the English patches for the PC-98 games yet? They're coming out real soon.

Ohhh Spiffy! I don't think it had been mentioned here before. Man,those old things... but I guess the very, very few brave English-speaking souls who dare try these games will now understand the epic stories a bit better

Also, Slug! Very awesome that you actually took Bocaj up on his challenge of the Top 5 favorite Thread shenanigans! That was a nice question for a new guy. (My favorite was the MMO Derail. I have that bookmarked) I would have one more, if you'd like, Slug. I'd be quite interested (and it is the most basic starting question) what your favorite characters might be . So if you'd like, you could do the Awesome Touhou Character Sorting Test and post whatever results you'd like to share. Only if you'd like, of course. Thank you.

I have been neding to give the Touhou Character sort another round. I used way to many ties last time.

Hmm... decided to take the test again since I didn't save my results last time.

My top ten got shuffled around, but they're generally still the same, a few weird changes, but the Top 20 overall still fit. The most notable drop is I remember Kagerou was in the Top 10 last time, and she didn't make Top 30 this time. Kokoro dropped pretty far too if my memory still serves me.

What's important is that Futo is still at the bottom of the list.

EDIT: Found my old results: Sakuya kicked out Nitori. Hatate swapped with Kagerou in a huge change of preference. Kokoro got swapped with Seija for another huge change of preference. I actually like this new Top 10 better than my old one.

Oh, now everyone's doin' the test again? Didn't mean to cause that, I'd say the last time was still very recent. Probably not much changed since then (for me, there definitely wouldn't be any change). We should probably give it a year and/or one or two new games until we do another round. And Slug, thanks for sharing! Mokou is freakin' awesome, certainly. And Reimu on Place 2 is a nice contrast to the saddening wave of Reimu-bashing that swept this thread after the last WAAAGGHHHH chapter.

Oh dear, sure. MMO Derail should start here. Sorry, I just assumed everyone had all of these highlights always at the ready. Speaking of thread highlights: I also have Clarste's Musings and the Derailing Youkai. We should bring her back again!

Now that I think on it, WAHH's most common plot starter seems to be that Reimu doesn't want to do something. FS's is that she does. Balance in all things.

Notes:

- Wow, what a surprise, my top 3 has gone entirely unchanged...Minus Kokoro now tying with Tenshi, but I figured that was for the best.

- Guess I don't really care much for PC-98 characters like I used to. Yumemi is still the highest one of her kind, but she dropped 14 places.

- Speaking of characters taking a drop. Yukari, Suika, Rumia and Yuuka just plummeted right off this list into the early 30s-late 40s. I know what happened to make me dislike Yukari more, but the other three make no sense.

- On a more uplifting note, I'm glad to see Mystia, Kyouko and Kogasa up so high. They honestly are some of the more two-dimensional characters in the series for having such bit roles overall, and I'd go as far to argue that Mystia would probably have been placed higher had she gotten a little more exposure in the mangas.

- No comment on the Komeiji sisters. Also, Shou got a better cut of the gib this time...But I still think she's placed too low overall. Or maybe I'm just Tiger-ist.

Anyways, an overall fun experience again, and I'll be ready to go another round next year!

Well, my most recent Touhou Sorting was after DDC, so it would be too recent to do it again (though the process is super fun!). The results would be the same, but here's my Top Three if anyone doesn't know/is interested:

At the top forever, since the beginning and until the end, is the Badass Youmu, Queen of Blades.

At number two, the Lovable Rogue Marisa, Queen of Hearts◊.

At number three (she and Marisa did switch places in the half-year since I had done it last before), the cuteriffic Kogasa, Queen of Woobies◊.

Hallo all, I must be new here. I am actually. But I've been around Touhou for a good 2 years now and I'm here now so hallo.

We're talking character sort it looks like, I don't have time for that now meself but I pretty much know my top ones off by heart.

Sanae is my best girl, and given how much I disliked her when I started I'm not sure how. I only knew about the first trilogy + Po FV at first so she didn't appeal to me slightly but after finally learning about the second trilogy she just seemed to somehow shoot up my moral order and now she here.

Yuuka was my long time favourite, my first true favourite and she's still right up there for me.

Thanks to in-game terms, Reiuji (Utsuho and Okuu are less cool names) is my #3 overall, her fight is just so awesome but she manages to look good as well...though I prefer Koishi and her stage as all the best 'in-game' moments of Touhou. But strictly speaking Reiuji is who I find the 'best', even if she's surprisingly not-difficult.

Everyone below has changed a lot, but I feel sure if I did a test now Koishi and Satori would come out 4 and 5. Below that it's all between Reisen, Aya, Sakuya, maybe Reimu and Yukari (maybe maybe Alice), and - for purely awesome reasons - Murasa and Konngara. Everyone below that, god knows, though there's certainly a few notable ones.

And just like that my new guy status is gone.

And here I thought I was the only one who did that. That said, the MMO bit is definately one of my favorite moments.

Hello. Judging you exclusively by your choice in character favorites, we'll get along well enough. Sanae's my #2, and Koishi is all staring at her from a "you are totally invading my personal space" distance in spot #3.

Huh, thinking on it, I really doubt Koishi has a concept of 'personal space'... but I wonder if her getting all up in your face would feel like she was intruding on your own personal space.

I suppose not. Which would make it... really weird. Like.. "Why am I oddly ok with this girl being an inch away from me?"

Darn it, see, Koishi's doing that Freudian thing to me again. I'm just gonna try and get a good grip on the handlebars before continuing.
