I assume everyone already heard about, hyped over, and speculated on the new Fighting Game news.
Anyone want to fight me in Hisoutensoku to celebrate? I wish to test the FIGHTING SPIRIT of my Troper brethren.

Once, I had a thought. I liked it, so I had another.Wild speculation is fun.
Song of the SirensAre you sure that fighting spirit isn't from suplexing a whale? I mean it was a chill whale, but still a whale.
But yes. A couple rounds.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonWould be good if this game has less characters, but has florist dream guardian 'Force of Nature' youkai Yuka
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...I imagine Yuuka as the crotchety old man on his porch with a shotgun telling those darn kids to get off his lawn.
I don't see her making many future appearances.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonIf any. She was hardly interesting even in her "revival" in POFV. Of all Touhous she's by far the most overrated.
Said the Cirno fan.
Song of the SirensI wonder if that qualifies as an ice burn.
I shall pretend it does.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYuuka could be a fun fighting game character just because I can't think of any other Touhou character who fits into the ponderous bruiser archetype better than her. (Granted, she's a ponderous magical bruiser, but everyone's magical, so that's not a big deal.)
Yuugi the Strong?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe crossed my mind while I was typing that, but I don't really see her as being slow.
Superhuman Hijiri Byakuren? I know her scroll casts Haste, but still.
Song of the SirensWell, Yuuka only dodges slow. She flies forward through a level at the same rate as everyone else. Yuugi doesn't bother to dodge because she's far too busy getting drunk.
I could see her as ponderous.
I think she's been mentioned before as a possibility for a mighty glacier but she had to cheat and buff all her stats. Haaaaaaaax.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt will be interesting to watch the Byakuren vs Miko battle, "It was inevitable".
Hylarn's text-wall of speculation on 13.5's roster:
- Reimu, Marisa: Confirmed!
- Sanae, Byakuren, Miko: Would be surprised if they didn't show, the game being about their faiths clashing and all
- Sakuya: Probable. I'd expect most main games to have at least one representative, and she's the logical choice for EoSD
- Patchouli: Slightly better than the rest of her game's cast, since ZUN seems to like her. Still unlikely
- Cirno, Meiling, Remilia: Only if they keep 'Soku's full cast
- Alice: Maybe. She's popular and would be easy enough to write in, but she's really not that important. Probably depends on whether she ends up playable in 14 like I suspect
- Youmu: Doesn't really have anything to do with plot, but she was just playable...
- Yuyuko: Doubtful
- Yukari: Probable
- Suika: Maybe. ZUN seems to like her well enough
- Keine: Would make sense, but I'm not sure if ZUN cares about her that much
- Reisen: Most logical choice for an IN represenative, though ZUN doesn't seem to know what to do with her. May get ditched in favor of Keine. Or Eirin. Or even Tei
- Komachi: Seems likely. ZUN seems to like her, she's popular enough, and her personality make getting involved in this incident in-character
- Aya: Reasonably likely. Only real reason to lose her would be lack of resources
- Kanako, Suwako: Maybe. But I'd only expect one. Could be either. Kanako is more important, but they already have a playstyle for Suwako
- Iku: Unlikely
- Tenshi: Also unlikely, but less so
- Utsuho: Mostly likely SA representative
- Catfish: No
- Nazrin: Too weak
- Kogasa: ZUN clearly likes her enough, but she seems like she'd only get in if they had extra time
- Ichirin: Has a usable gimmick, but I don't think she's popular enough with fans or ZUN
- Minamitsu: Like the above, but without the gimmick
- Shou: Maybe? Certainly distinctive enough, but I'm not sure if ZUN cares about her
- Nue: Like Shou, but slightly more likely
- Kyouko: Too weak, and her gimmick would be hard to implement well
- Seiga/Yoshika: Seems like a shoo-in, honestly
- Tojiko, Futo: I honestly don't get the impression that ZUN cares about them at all
- Mamizou: Every reason to be fighting, obvious gimmick. Reasonably likely
- Some new girl: Looks like someone is behind the incident
seems hnd 03 has PLENTY of fighting spirit*. But what of the rest of you? BE YOU COWARDS?

Once, I had a thought. I liked it, so I had another.I don't even have the game, and I'm too honorable to pirate it.
I make video games! Or plan to, anyway.1. If the new game doesn't have Alice it's going to need a good roster because I'm not sure I can learn a new character.
2. I have the SPIRIT, but not the GAME!
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments.Bah. Fine then.
Once, I had a thought. I liked it, so I had another.Do not fret Sieg.
Whether on the field of 'Soku or not, we shall have combat.
Assuming the new game has multiplayer.
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments. The thought of a fighting game without multiplayer strikes me as hilariously sad.
I make video games! Or plan to, anyway.Even if it does have Alice, you'd have to relearn her given all of the mechanical differences
I think this is something we can assume
At least Cirno was distinctly interesting and had personality. She learns, she talks, she walks, she plays, she shoots you in the face with yellow bullets on Normal if the you try the Icicle Fall trick, she grows, and she earns an endearing spot in fans' hearts.
What does Yuuka have? "Genocide is a game~." Unchanging uptight carrot up the ass generic evil.
And Now For Something Completely Different...
Onikobe Rin's Image Series continues. This time with 'No Ma'am, I didn't see you playing with your dolls again!'
Yet another translation of HM's prologue. Most interesting thing here is it pointing out what ZUN is referencing
She questioned those beliefs way before that. She was destroying evil spirits even though Komachi told her not to.
