Dont those always go together??
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I am more concerned about the bit where she's bad-mouthing her rival.
Also I'm still waiting for Parson to come try recruiting the suiciders with "Amazing health plan: if you die, you get resurrected!"
The thing is, why would she need to seduce him at all? He's already committed to the anti-Charlie alliance. And why don't the Thinkamancers trust her? Just because she is a different type of caster?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Thinkamancers don't trust anybody at all who isn't inside their brain-trust.
Wasn't there something about the Hippiemancers being in on his summonning because it was the only way that Hippiemancy could have its own warlord?
Could be she's aiming to keep him after Charlie is gone.
She doesn't care about Charlie. And yes, it's been stated several times.
Well she cares inasmuch as Charlie is one of the warmongers she'd like to see out of business. But yeah, not so much personal issues with him as the Thinkamancers.
And she definitely wants Parson to stay and try to break Erfworld more once he's done with Charlie.

So she wants him to see a bigger picture. I see character development coming. And maybe a sex scene.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."We still don't have confirmation, other than the biased statements of folks like Janis, that Parson's Fate is specifically to defeat Charlie or to "break" Erfworld. Many of the folks trying to manipulate his Fate towards their ends might find themselves unpleasantly surprised.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"At this point, so many people are trying to influence him, that I dont think he has any one fate. That may be an underlying theme, in fact.

"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Huh. Was not expecting payoff for that plot thread yet.
So, no random hippie sex for Parson. :/ Yet.
There's a valid reason in there somewhere...
I'm really liking this interaction between Parson and Janis. Poor Parson, if he wants to stop seeing people as pawns he needs to start with himself.
Am I the only one finding Janis as a character starting to get a little... annoying?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Hm, how so?
She's starting to seem just a little too one dimensional to me.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."All characters in Erfworld are one-dimensional to an extent. That's part of its problem.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"There's a problem? I mean in general?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Well, Erfworld can continue on in warfare unending for the rest of Time, but clearly some Fate is steering it towards a possible end to that condition. Most of its inhabitants cannot even conceive of such an outcome, however, because they are, by nature and conditioning, embroiled in the system they were popped into.
As a Hippiemancer, it is in Janis' nature to seek peace. She has, however, taken the unusual step of looking into a much longer-term future than most.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
I believe she's honest about wanting to do him.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."
