....Apperantly Chen is sipposed to flip over hats (I have no idea why, try not think about it) and Orin is a rival.....
....So Yeah. Chen did make me go HHHHGGGGGGGNNNNNNNNNNN though.

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithLike, in panel 1, Chen was flipping an omelet or something, and Ran says that she's getting good at flipping things, so she goes and flips Yukari's hat, and Ran encourages her to go flip more hats.
Yeah I don't know why either but there it is. and Chen's at a marked disadvantage there, unless she's capable of flipping Orin's ears.
I have a message from another time...She could always flip over Orin's cart. That'd learn her to have human and cat ears.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers....Then there would be corpses all over the road.
....As I said, don't think about it.
EDIT: Well, regarding my stance on Chen, I do her a little differently than most people, thanks to wonderous OC's~
.....
But, yeah. Chen in my fanfic eventually becomes a Wrench Wench, (Yes, seriously)thanks to an OC, Yuji (Not his real name), a nekomata street racer from another Genso where they have technology comparable to us. Chen at first is really interested in cars (Since they're a new thing, and it makes sense that she would take a liking to something she's never seens before), and after spending six months with Yuji, she becomes his mechanic. Even then, she remanins just as playful and Genki than before (though she has matured a bit) so she's kind of like the normal fanon depiction, though I go with a more aggressive interpertation than most (She's clearly interested in kicking everyone's asses).
Eventually, she becomes Yuji's tuner and mechanic, tweaking his cars to be as fast as possible and fixing any problems with them. In races, she uses an advanced computer than can give her extremely detailed info on Yuji's car.
Yuji:Chen, You are a strange girl, you know that? I've never seen someone be so interested in cars before.
Chen:I'm just intersted in them. It gives me something to play with. I like action and I like speed and I like winning. Driving a racing-spec Gumpert Apollo down the Le Mans Circuit is the second best thing for those three besides danmaku.
....So Yeah. There's my little thing on how my Chen's a little different that others.

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithI don't understand the point of creating an OC just for the purpose of shipping.
If anything, the discussion of OCs either belongs in the main touhou thread, not at all, or in its own thread but lets not muddle up Alt. intrepretations over it.
If anything, the discussion of O Cs either belongs in the main touhou thread, not at all, or in its own thread but lets not muddle up Alt. intrepretations over it.
I understand that, but I was providing my own interpertation of Chen, since that's the point of this thread: discuss people's interpertations of touhou characters.
It's just that to understand my interpertations, you have to know a little about my OC's, since they play a big role in my fanfic (Not Marty Stu big, but big.)

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithI can't say I support this whole OC-thing either, but this is Alternate Interpretation. Let him be.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!...You know, you guys could just shut up and stop making anti-OC remarks and just get on with the thread.
But that wouldn't be fun, now would it? After all, picking on me would be so much more fun, now would it?
Please, just shut the fuck up.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-Wraith...here I'm taking your side and saying just that, and you are attacking me. *shakes head in disappointment*
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!^But you still said you didn't like it very much. What's the point of me doing if everyone's gonna insult me?
You gotta love the touhou fandom: You guys are normally all "Sure, go for it!". There's a reason there are so many touhou crossovers. Everyone thinks it's cool.
But should you dare mention OC's, everyone goes to "OMG YOU SUCK AND ARE STUPID FAGGOT" mode.
Hypocrisy: The touhou fandom has a PHD in it.

You logic is now starting to make no sense now.
Take it easy, man. Can we get on with the damn thread?

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithWhoa whoa whoa. We don't need to go here, do we? If he wants to talk about his OCs, let him talk about his OCs. If you don't like his OCs, don't respond to him. If he interprets any comment about as OCs that isn't praise as an attack, as he seems to, don't comment on OCs at all. I see no problem with him contributing to this thread with his own interpretations. Maybe it looks rude to intentionally ignore him, but he's kind of implicitly asking us to. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" seems to be an appropriate proverb here.
^^ Actually, it was you who started all this. We are simply responding to your haphazardly put-together posts.
^ Which. Is. What. I. Said. In. The. First. Place.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I'm not doing that. I appreciate any constructive critisism on them.
It's when people ignore everything I write and start flaming me for no reason that I get pissed off.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithPeople saying "I disagree with your tastes but respect your right to have them" isn't flaming you. Honestly I'm naturally inclined to be on your side since I'm not a fan of the Touhou shipping community either, but your attitude isn't helping things. You can't make people have the same tastes, nor expect them too. The best you can hope for as a minority opinion is tolerance, and expecting anything more is asking for mind control powers.
I sure wasn't getting that feeling from most of the people in this thread. I got more of "SHUN THE HERECTIC" feeling
And I'm sure as hell not getting any tolerance. All I'm getting is a "you suck because you make OC's, so GTFO" mentality.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithUnless you want to discuss one or more of the Yakumos or to suggest which character we should do next, SHUT UP. EVERYBODY.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)A lot of people don't like OCs because the tendency for them to be Marty Stus, flat characters, or poorly thought out. This isn't necessarily the case. The Scarlet Stained Memoir had a small handful of original characters which were moderately complex although some fit the story better than others.
Un/fortunately, original characters in established stories have to work twice as hard to fit half as well in the eyes of the viewer. Is this fair? Probably not. Is it how things are? Yeah. People are more willing to accept canon characters act widely out of canon than a new guy.
I don't really mind if you bring up your OCs in conjunction with discussing your takes on the character. Its what the thread is for. I would suggest posting a link in your signature to anywhere online where you keep your stories so if anyone is interested they can check it out.
Also, could we all everyone avoid ad hominem? Non-sequitors and reducto ad absurdium are the better fallacies anyway.
Ninja'd: I vote Koishi for next.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersUgh.
@(Several)People-Who-Aren't-Chagen: It's not hard to not take offense to something that doesn't directly harm you, and someone's OCs don't directly harm you even if they're posted about in a thread you frequent. Please don't bring up your dislike of them. They have a valid place in this thread as a "what-if" scenario concerning a character's potential pairings.
@Chagen: Please stop being a jerk. You have evidently received a lot of flak in the past, that much is clear. That is unfortunate, but we also have nothing to do with it. Pull yourself together and stop getting defensive and insulting people as soon as they have anything negative to say about what you do. I do not buy your claim that you accept constructive criticism, and your fights with people are the one thing I do not want in this thread, not your original characters.
Now. Chen while you still can.
You see, there is one problem with this.
I have never written a single page of Touhou fanfic in my life.
No, seriously. I'm already Brilliant, but Lazy, and then there's school and my own original series, Hellfire Catharsis....I never have the time to write them....
Dammit....Hellfire Catharsis is supposed to have the "f" capitalized, but that just links to Hellfire on the wiki....
