All Purpose Negima Fanfiction Thread

I’ve pretty much withdrawn to Questionable Questing. I am still writing, although I haven’t touched Negima in years. Mostly I’ve been sticking to writing quests.

In non-writing related news, I recently earned a Network+ certification. I’m now working on getting Security+.

Well, it's nice to see this sorta alive again, even if not terribly so. Long time on and off lurker in Negima fics, finally made an account here since feels like the Negima community is, understandably, sorta dead almost everywhere else. UQ Holder subreddit doesn't count.

I'm bearing gifts though, at least I hope! Made a long(150k+ words right now) Negima crossover with Washio Sumi is a Hero I've been updating for the last 3 years in part from lack of good fics and it's nearing conclusion, so thought I'd drop it here. Tried to make it understandable even if you don't know both sides. If the links get eaten due to my account being new, should be easily findable on FF.net or Ao 3 under Omniwhatever or the recently updated Negima crossovers.

Know there's only so much life to be expected in a concluded and rather dead fandom, especially with the sequel being polarizing at best, but Negima's got a ton of potential for fics with how wide the cast is. Shame a lot of fics with anything even resembling activity now feel like they're trying to retell canon and end up losing steam early into Negima's plot or are on the smaller side.

So I heard something awhile back that Akamatsu was consulted by the Japanese Parliament for advice on keeping other countries from pressuring Japan into censoring manga or something.

It wasn't specifically that. From what I gather, he was called on how to help Japanese manga survive in the world, and one of the things Akamatsu himself specifically cited was freedom of expression and to avoid caving toward censorship to appease foreign markets.

Akamatsu tweeted about it and I saw a twitter named seri3ma posted an English translation of the tweets he made. I'd link to it, but don't think I can with my account still being less than a few weeks old.

Negima fanfic IS actually still alive and well, but it’s all moved to the Ala Iridia forum.
