I'd at least prefer a fun winner over someone boring like Caleb. Even his team doesn't care about him winning lol.
So, how come Priya's parents never trained her to face her fear of thunder and lightning? Considering they are aware fear challenges are a thing in Total Drama, why didn't they try to train Priya to face her fears?
Maybe she hid it from them so they wouldn't know she had a psychological weakness of any sort.
Not that the season really went anywhere with Priya's parents in the end anyway.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. So, how did Island 2023 Part 2 fare compared to Action, World Tour, and All Stars as seasons that brought back contestants from a previous season? It is telling no one can say that anyone (aside from maybe Ripper and Axel in the merge and even then they're still fine pre-merge) was Flanderized like those three seasons.
Axel barely had character in Season 1 so I don't consider her derailed or flanderized. I think Ripaxel was just rushed and forced as if they wanted to check off every single plot point in a TD romance not covered by Priyaleb, but it had potential and it gave her some cute Hidden Depths, i.e. liking poetry and art. Ripper got softer in a way that took away from his comedy though.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I think it would have been fine if Ripper or Axel had got eliminated and that forced the other competitor to get serious, but immediately after Axel gets eliminated, they stop caring about Ripper. Notably, Priya gets eliminated one episode before the finale too, its like they really are afraid of seperating couples this season.
Weird since the last season had no problem giving Bowie several episodes to compete after Raj was eliminated. Sure Emma got eliminated the episode after Chase, but there was more time for Chase being absent than Priya was in season 2.
For a kids' show, Total Drama has some interesting shots.
Courtney has Male Gaze on her page for a reason...
The original Island was seemingly written with Canadian values in mind, which I believe have less censorship. So there's more Double Entendre and slightly edgier language than in later seasons. Once CN took the reins, you can see the show's humor get more childish in tone.
I miss when Owen had a recurring trait of being kind of perverted lol.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. When did Cartoon Network assume full creative control of the show? They never did have Cartoon Network Studios produce the show, so when did it happen?
DJ of all characters curses in the first episode. It's always funny to me.
So, why is the release schedule for the 2023 seasons so scattered? Both seasons have already been airing in Europe for nearly a year now while Canada has just only recently began airing season 1 in fall 2023 and no word on when it will ever release in America.
Like, why didn't the 2023 seasons get released in Canada and United States at the same time they were released in Europe? The past seasons never had this problem, why is it a thing this time?
Heck, I think this could cause ratings and HBO Max views for the 2023 seasons in America to not be as good since everyone's already managed to access both seasons through piracy from Europe airings at this point which could lower the chances of there being future seasons after the 2023 seasons.
No clue. I'm still waiting on the American release myself and have thankfully managed to avoid spoilers but I really hope we get it soon.
I've never watched this show so I'm going ask, what's this appeal behind this show?
New theme music also a boxA video has now come out regarding Christian Potenza's sexual allegations, with Christian Potenza revealing the reason why he got recast as Chris despite initially recording dialogue for season 1.
Skip to 5:22 for where he talks about the reboot seasons.
Also regarding the recent edit on the Characters page, who do you all see as the Big Bad of Island 2023 Part 1, Bowie or Julia? I'd say Julia.
Scarlett's elimination is very very very justified, but why Max? What did he do? Did he really deserve this?
All he did was say one sentence about bragging about being evil, which simply made Chris throw him in the canon out of annoyance.
Surprised this elimination doesn't come up more often for the most unfair Total Drama eliminations.
It's weird, because if they still went through with a vote Max would have definitely gotten the boot for causing all of this anyway.
How would anyone have even known that Max accidentally puking on the tree circuitry caused this entire mess?
I agree that it's Julia, though I'm not sure why you spoiler-tagged your post. I brought that edit to ATT after the person who made the edit restored it after I had reverted it, the mod who responded said that I should bring the discussion here if I want to revert the edit again.
yeah i also agree it's julia. bowie was more of an antagonist than a villain while julia actively insulted and hurt people.
now's your chance to be a big shotJulie was also genuinely happy when she thought Millie and Priya were dead.
The thing about Owen is love him or hate him, but he gets a lot of screentime, even when not in challenges. He'd always be up to something. The revival seasons have no downtime, so Wayne doesn't really get that, and Wayne isn't part of any alliances and only interacts with one character. Out of all the winners, he's the closest to Lightning, and his ending is supposed to be the bad one.
