Alright, let's try stabbing it with my dagger.

Repeatedly.

All right after I do get stung so much I can't feel anymore I'd just to um pick up and carry that there beehive with me as I walk down presumably blindly down one of these paths. I'd just like to beecone the carrier of this beehive as I get hives. Ouch these puns are stingers aren't they.

Noticing that the midget and elf are gone I give another speech to the pigs "Hail her we will but how can we show are loyalty stuck here we must escape and destroy anyone defying Our Mistress. Now we need to make a pig stairway sadly a few will be left behind but don't worry we will make you proud. Now go build a stairway to our freedom!"

AUGH WHAT IS THAT THING IT IS THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES!!!!

I don't want to stick around and try to fight that! I'm gonna heal myself up fast as I can so that I can run, and then I'm gonna try to run by that new ogre to get out of this room, through the door that doesn't lead back to the ghost dwarves!

I'm probably gonna have to dodge some kind of attack from him as I run past. Maybe roll out of the way of one. Maybe I will need to roll to dodge. Huh, for some reason that sounds familiar. Well, no time to think about it now, it's time to act!

Yeah, okay... alright, of course it's frozen water. Honestly, I don't have the energy to care right now. Mentally speaking, of course.

Mm, must be exhausting being a total waste of life.

I will shoot you, even if I have to tear apart my soul to do so.

Have fun finding something to do it with.

...whatever. Well, I'm a monk, it seems; why can't I just break the ice here and clean myself off before it freezes back over?

Because it'll probably be cold enough to cause frostbite, one; and, knowing my luck, it'll be the holy lake of some ancient ice cult that subsequently wants you dead for defiling their sacred grounds. Two.

...that sounds highly unlikely. Then again, the pig urine is probably going to freeze over soon enough in this temperature...

You watch, that'll be a holy ice cult lake. I fucking know it will.

Hmph. Better than smelling and looking the way I do. But I'm not going to try and use your magic to keep myself warm whilst I'm cleaning myself off, because that'll probably just set me on fire or blow me up something.

No, see, it's your magic at the moment, so you'd blow yourself up. I assume that's how it works, anyway.

Not dignifying that with a response. Instead, I'm going to go ahead and try regulating my own internal body temperature to keep myself warm in these temperatures, since that's apparently a thing I can do as somebody brought into existence as some form of relatively skilled martial artist, and then I'm going to go ahead and try to break the ice with my fist, so as to give me somewhere to wash both myself and my clothes. Yeah, that'll work. I hope.

Kool Aid golem? Kool aid golem. Hehheehhee. Hahhaaaha.

Crackers, I'm going to need crackers to bind their souls to.

"Hey, I'm going to eat your souls! Kool Aid Man please get me some crackers!"

With one hand Philosopher shot his pistol at the dragonborn while his other hand cast cure light wounds.

His body would probably reject the arrows and push them out or the magic would do something horrible.

Roll To Dodge: Savral Turn 184

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Black Mage Anolis (3,4): You jab your blade into the tiger. The first strike slices right into its back, but you manage to land the second strike into its neck, causing it to fall limp. You stab it three more times, but they don’t seem to do much now that the tiger is dead. Another tiger leaps up next to you, and swipes at you from the underside, causing you and the tiger corpse to tumble over.
Capnrecked (5): You walk over to the beehive and pick it up, despite however strange and suicidal your action seems. You then randomly walk down one of the paths. The bees still seem to be stinging at you. After some time, you trip and fall in what appears to be a lake. You begin sinking down, but the bees no longer seem to be bothering you. Due to the water and the fact your eyes are bloated as hell, you have difficulty seeing anything around you.
Yoloisfox (5): There is no need for you to make a pig stairway, as the stairs at the end of the room are just gentle enough for you and your brethren to walk through. You and your pigs begin climbing up the stairs, until you return to the outside world and its green-lit skies. You appear to be standing high up on a grassy cliff, with a large, sparkling forest down below. The sun up above seems to be smiling.
Kilgore Trout (1);    THE OGRELORD (???):    You attempt to heal yourself, but instead your healing spell explodes in your face. The Ogrelord simply walks up to you, lifts you up with his powerful ogre hands, and then slams your skull into the ground.    You got #Shrekt!    Respawn?
Cybersbe (3): You leave the guards to their business and approach the settlement, passing by an additional pair of guards bordering the gate. As mentioned earlier, the settlement is surrounded by a set of stone walls, with towers placed every so often. In many places along the walls’ interior, you see a number of ladders here and there. Barracks facilities border the south and north ends of the town, and for the most part, the roads are paved with cobblestone. Most of the population comprises of kobolds, with a few shrumen, goblins, and dwarves in their mix. A large portion of the town contains tightly packed houses within the outer and middle rings of the city. The inner ring, however, seems to contain a number of stalls and shops, along with an inn of sorts. You also see a large fountain featuring a dragon statue in the center of this town, surrounded by a small garden and iron fence. Kobold guards seem to be stationed every so often, keeping eyes on the many people wandering the town streets. Towards the southwest end of the town, you see a large goblet-like structure supported by a number of thin columns. A small pantheon-like temple resides in the east corner of town, elevated by brickwork steps. In the northwest corner of town, you see a small, chapel-like palace building with a long narrow tower going up along the left side. Two red banners featuring the double-headed black dragon are displayed here.
BC The Entity (2): You aren’t really sure how you’re supposed to regulate your internal body temperature without using magic. Either way, you walk up to the ice and punch it. It shows no signs of cracking.
Undying Phoenix (3): Almost instantaneously, the Arbiter recalls you back to its position, and the unicorn seems to have teleported along with you. You’re still bleeding out though.
Jondanger 23 (3): As has been mentioned before, the chamber you’re in has a large heart-like structure hanging at the top of the room, which seems to have stopped beating. Much of the floor is covered with bundles of flesh and whatnot. You begin walking around the room, much of which is obscured by darkness. The walls also seem to be covered in a fleshy substance. As you feel along the walls, it eventually turns into a tunnel, which seems to go on for some time. It’s fairly difficult to see in here. After walking for a few minutes, you come across an unlabeled switch jutting out from some metal surface, which seems to be lit up from some hanging bulb-like structure. The switch is currently placed in an upward position. The hallway seems to continue on for some time.
Philosopher (6,4); Kool Aid Golem (5,4): You bring out one of your pistols and shoot one of the dragonborn in the face, causing it to drop down onto the ground. With your other hand, you heal yourself. Your head begins to heal and the bolt in your arm spits out of your body as the wound heals. You also feel the bolt in your stomach try to push itself out, but it becomes stuck against your armor.

The remaining dragonborn begin to march over toward you while the floating samurai begins soaring up into a better position. Just as the spearmen come into reach, the Kool Aid Golem says,    “OH YEAAAAAAAAH!”    and then charges at you, tackling you onto the ground. You hear it retch for a moment, and then puke out some sort of reddish, acidic substance, which melts through your armor and begins burning your skin off. You see globs of chewed-up crackers within this mixture.

To clarify about that, Cathy, there's scientific evidence suggesting that meditation can allow people to regulate their internal body temperature to a certain extent, something specifically practiced for effectiveness by Tibetian monks. There's a lot of articles on the topic, but for sake of ease, I'll just link to the most relevant Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tummo

Gooooooood joooooob.

Shut up. And, well, since I apparently can't self-regulate my body temperature like that, I guess I'll just... warm myself up some with magic. And try to break the ice again, I suppose.

Do try to actually break it this time, instead of... well, flailing ineffectually at it.

I grabbed the chewed up cookie and cast soulbind to bind one of the souls of the recently slain to the cookie before I gobble it down.

Now back to the battle. I try to get out from under the golem and jump back away from the spearmen. For my final action this turn I shoot my pistols at the Kool Aid golem in an attempt to hurt it and send its horrid acid onto the dragonborn.

Announcement

@Everyone: Hello everyone, it's been almost a week since I made the last turn post, but I just wanted to make an announcement.

I'm sorry to say this, but I think I'll be stepping down from my position as GM for this threat.

The truth is, I've been gradually losing interest in running this pseudo-RP for some time now. The only reason I've been able to keep up with posts was through self-imposed discipline. Some of you may have noticed that some responses have been growing shorter compared to some of my earlier posts. Some of you may have also noticed that the time gaps in between when I have posted have been growing wider.

For the latest batch of actions, I have only completed three responses, and I have neglected to develop the rest even though I have had about a week to do so. Although I have had plenty of time to do so, I have not developed the remaining responses, even though it wouldn't take very much time out of my day. I don't even have the excuse of having work stuff or schoolwork to take care of. I have just simply lost the will to continue this.

Maybe this is only a temporary swing of emotions, and I hope I do not come to regret my decision to step down in the future.

I have had one of the longest tenures as DM for this thread, if not the longest. I may have learned a thing or two about running systems of these sorts along with other facets of worldbuilding, but I no longer wish to maintain this. Seeing that a few of you have stayed throughout this journey in spite of some difficulties, I'm sorry that I can no longer continue to immerse you in this world that I have developed.

The truth is, I feel this system has taken a toll on me over time, though this may be simply due to laziness. It may be that I'm a bit frustrated with the system itself, simply because of how difficult it is to keep everyone on a coherent track and whatnot. Perhaps the sheer challenge of having to juggle multiple different storylines while maintaining an adequate level of detail has taken its toll.

I don't know. Now that my self-discipline for writing this pseudo-RP has collapsed, I don't think I'll be able to finish another entry.

I might try to update the trope/recap page to log any relevant examples/information, but this is probably unlikely.

Anyway, the reason I've decided to write this up, instead of letting the thread die on its own, is so we can begin the process of choosing a successor. From what I've seen in the past, usually the acting GM makes a couple posts, and then the thread lays dormant for some time until someone is willing to take up the mantle. While I could have left this thread to die as others have done in the past, I want to reduce the pause in between games as much as possible so everyone can keep playing.

For future transitions in between GMs, I think we should have people who want to potentially GM step up, and then discuss amongst ourselves who should GM amongst these options, along with possible themes. I'll admit, I literally took over the position of GM myself when the previous GM had a momentary hiatus, but I think we should smooth the transition between GMs as much as possible.

I might try and aid and offer my opinions to whoever succeeds me, and I might briefly participate in the tenure of whoever takes over, but I cannot guarantee this.

If anyone wants to continue running the game in the world of Savral, they may be free to do so, though due to its relative complexity, it might be better to start from scratch. I can PM any relevant details to the Savral verse, if anyone wants to use it/is interested.

I'm sorry if this might seem a bit sudden, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to see this session to its completion, but I hope I can help whoever succeeds me.

I'm not done with GM-ing in general or participating in RPs, but I just feel like I need to take a break from this particular format, especially from having done it for about a year and a half. I'm probably going to develop a low-fantasy RP in the actual RP threads sometime in the future, one that's a bit more serious in nature and won't involve demonic unicorns or random chance screwing you every five seconds.

Anyway, it was nice GM-ing for this thread, and I hope some of you might keep an eye out for some of my stuff in the future.

I'm sorry to see you go as GM, but I completely understand. It's clear that you put a lot of work into this, which has to eat up a lot of time. I've run online R Ps before and I've ended up handing the reins over to somebody else too when it got to the point where I didn't have the time, or where it stopped being fun for whatever reason, etc. Not that I'm nominating myself for a replacement or anything, since I'm not sure how good I'd be at this.

It's a shame to see you go, Cathy. Even if it sometimes hasn't seemed like it, I did mostly enjoy playing in the world you've built up here. Incidentally, as much as I'd like to offer myself up as the new GM, I'm not convinced I could be trusted to achieve the rate of updates you've managed for so long, not least because I've recently started working full-time. However, to whoever does get the position, I trust you'll be a good successor.

Realized I still haven't said how I feel about this ending. I did enjoy this, even if you constantly did things to make us angry. But I'm still hopeful that the successor will be as good. ... I'm not volunteering, if that's what you're wondering. I'd probably suck.

Hi, Cap'nRecked here. I'd like to say I would like to become the next GM for this thread. I'll need to learn the markup here to make my posts as nice as Cathari made them.

I have a plan to run this game

1. Acknowledge Savral as canon.

2. A little bit of a more freeform style of Roll To Dodge. Except with a consistent setting.

3. Retain the class system, however leave it much more open. Anyone can be any one thing, except for god, and players can attempt to lawyer in characters from series again.

4. Setup a new world fantasy world set during a period of industrial revolution featuring fantastical races.

5. Award for role playing. Good boy points which will be awarded for staying in character, these will be spent to edit roll results up or down.

Any questions or suggestions?
