And I'm quite enjoying it. It's a gorgeous-looking game with excellent gameplay to back it up, and the characters are charming.

I'm not very far into it because I'm juggling Other M and Super Smash Bros Brawl, but I love what I'm seeing so far.

Anyone care to discuss?

The game woulda been much more fun if they made it a bit harder and remove the revive system...(if you die, you just come back to life with everything intact in the same area).

And the translation coulda been much better handled....case in point, they called a Nue a CHIMERA! I mean...they got tengu and kappa right...but why would they do that to Nue?

And...some of the secret arts are a tad too powerful by the end, particularly anyone that involves spinning.

Asides from those, I love the game. Wish it was longer though. I wish Vanillaware makes more Wii games. Or port their previous two games to the Wii.

This company's games solidified my view that art direction is far more important than graphics when it comes to visuals.

Is a Nue not a chimera in the sense of "creature formed of parts from various animals"? Not like there was much else you could call a kappa or tengu, for that matter.

I have a message from another time...

Anyways, have you gotten any hot spring scene yet?

Not yet, but a friend of mine is rather of the opinion that I should try to get there as soon as possible...

This game is sexy. Not the brawler I had pictured, though.

Yet another game collecting dust on my 'Weird shit from Japan' shelve. It was a most enjoyable experience, but there were a few things that really ticked me off.

For example, the three 'make game bitch' (Windmill, Moonring and Gale) powers that made every other power in your arsenal completely redundant, even if other powers came with better swords. That's not good game design, and spamming these moves got old pretty quick. Yes, I don't have to use them, but if you have to go on a Self-Imposed Challenge in order to make up for a mistake in design, something went wrong.

And you guys are complaining about the English translation? Hah! Try the Dutch version. No, seriously. This game, of all possibilities, has been translated into Dutch, even though everyone in the appropriate age group knows English. And they did a very shoddy job as well. Some of the dialogues were almost impossible to understand. And they still left in random pieces of English and Japanese in there. The whole work just screamed 'shoddy'.

That being said, the art was beautiful, and the combat system was pretty fun, superpowers aside. I enjoyed it, and I am glad to have it in my collection. But I doubt I will be playing much of it any time soon.

I mean, I already got the six different endings and all that.

Six different endings? Aw, hell.

I'm a rabid completionist, but I don't have that much time to play games anymore. I can already tell Muramasa will ruin my life. And it's gonna rock.

Wish they made the game more challenging though...even if you don't use Game Breakers, many of the bosses are quite easy.

EPIC BUMP.

I apologize for making this such a severe one, but I see conflicting information out there, so... is this or is this not available on Wii-Ware? I haven't used Wii-Ware for anything and would like a good reason to hook my console up to the Wi-Fi again.

It's a Wii game, as in played with a disc.

Never heard of a Wii Ware Muramasa game...

Searched online for it, and saw a few claims that it was "to be released on Wii-Ware" in old press. Considering it was a disk game, I was rather surprised at this, but I don't see anything, anywhere, saying it's downloadable.

At least the price on new copies isn't too bad. I might be able to have one shipped soon.

This is the kind of game you want to physically own anyways...all Vanilla Ware games are actually.

More companies should fund them to make games for their consoles.

I have Odin Sphere (but never finished it — still regret that a bit) and heard about Muramasa before it had come out. I don't remember why I didn't pick it up right off, might have been price at the time.

I'm interested in seeing how their new games will turn out, but in the meantime, I want to pick up this one. I guess 30 USD isn't too bad.

$30? Amazon has it for $13. BTW, I bought it last month and am loving it. The gameplay is very 1992, it doesn't use any of the wii-specific features, but it's still awesome.

Last I played, I got both of the first endings. Currently still need to get every weapon, which means slogging through each and every bonus fight with BOTH characters... and I could barely pass one.

Yeah, it's gonna take me a long time. I'd need to set aside a really big chunk of time to get through it.

$13? Huh, and it's still new. Awesome. I can tell Ignition Entertainment is better about keeping up volume than Atlus is.
