In fairnes, F91 does roll off the tongue better than, say GN-001REII, or MSZ-06

Fate Grand Order players will know me as Ryusei-Go.

And it better emphasizes how its more a weapon of war than a super robot like the other Gundams before and after it.

Speaking of something kinda related to the F91, I really love the F99 Record Breaker from Crossbone Steel 7.

I kinda like Gundams with actual codenames too but I guess I see the serial number things as more sensible to what Tomino originally intended. That's why its weird to just called the RX-78-2 just "gundam." F91 and the three main Gundams from Stardust Memory come pretty close to that too.

But Gundam "was" the original name, just like Zaku.

Also, "It's a RX-78-2!" *BOOM* doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

The Ready Player One trailer hit and it has the original RX-78 Gundam...posing like the Double Zeta. Keep in mind the book is awful, but there you go.

I actually quite enjoyed the book, for what it's worth.

Personally, I don't give a crap if the book is bad, I'm gonna have fun watching that film, and the prospect of seeing a CGI Gundam in a Hollywood film makes it slightly more potentially enjoyable to me.

I swear the book also has a bit where the protag goes up against a girl player but because her ingame avatar is male he insists on calling her with male pronouns and that's just dumb.

...what? The only thing that's anything like that is when he meets Aech (who has a white male avatar) in person, she turns out to be a black woman. He's surprised at first but gets over it quickly. After that, he keeps referring to her as male in-game because that's what she wanted — she specifically created a white male avatar in order to avoid dealing with the racism and sexism of being a black woman, so referring to her as "she" when everyone else thought she was a white guy would have outed her.

Not really on topic for the Gundam thread, though. There are threads for both Ready Player One the book and the film, so should probably take non-Gundam-related discussion there.

Okay, food for thought, why didn't Dozle try to extract the Big Zam with his forces instead of sending it out alone to cover the retreat? Considering the damage it did unsupported had he brought it to ABQ it could have been pretty dangerous.

I think the implication is the only reason the Zeons were able to retreat from Solomon at all was because the Big Zam was keeping the Federation occupied.

Anyway yeah I suppose in theory you could make any gundam do any pose. I mean you could make the Barbatos do a Nobel Gundam pose if you have the gunpla for it.

I will say if I need a ton of firepower to bear against a private army, ZZ is the Gundam you want. Granted it will give the engineers headaches for weeks, but it’s worth it.

x4Dozle was specifically running interference, not to mention the Zam had a really low operating time. He knew what was going to happen.

Eh, there’s also the V2 Assault Buster. Vastly longer operating time, even bigger arsenal, and even if no one gun is quite as powerful as the Hi-Mega Cannon, several of them come close (and won’t maul the suit every time they fire).

On RPO, this short thread is one of multiple reasons why I’m not super-hyped about more Japanese geekery showing up, although hopefully Spielberg’s writing team will be smart enough to tone down... uhh... that.

So...good news! I got my Gundam Ez-SR today! Its a damn fun kit to build and has some spare parts for the HGUC Ez-8 (which I don't have :P)

I fucked up tho, I lost the back-camera sticker for the Infiltrator. I was trying to place it but I dropped it and can't find the tiny fucker. I have stickers sometimes but I'll let it slide. not like I lost a v-fin.

But I love the way you can change it to different modes. But what I did was a sort of pick-and-mix thing. Generally its build is Infiltrator mode with the snub-nosed SMG but it has Eliminator's back cannona nd ammo packs and Shadow P Hantom's shoulder pads and shield. That's how you use EZ-SR, right?

It's the best way to Ez-SR, yeah. That's precisely why I recommend the kit. It's way fun to customize.

How big is the sticker you lost? Is it just a small green one like most back cameras? If so, you can prolly just cut a new one out of left over green foil on most sticker sheets; for some kits it's a must since they don't include enough green stickers (I'm looking at you, Advanced Hazel. Mother fucker doesn't include a sticker for its main sensor!).

If I got three seperate Ez-S Rs, I could really customize like a motehrfucker. But fornow I've got a Destroy Mode Unicorn, Wing Zero and Kamiki Burning to focus my energy on when they arrive.
