Which one is the Touhou Vania?

Yep. There are quite a few pro fan-games of Touhou out there.

There's probably a fan-made Touhou version of most of the popular genres. Or at least a mod for a popular game that changes the models. RPG Touhou, Team Fortress Touhou, GTA Touhou, etc. My personal favorite of these is Megaman Touhou, but that's just me. The only "official" ones are the ones Lumerian listed on the previous page though, all of which are Bullet Hell games except the three 2d fighting games. Although two of the Bullet Hell games are twists on the genre.

You get Mario Touhou as well, and a few Breath Of Touhou-esque RP Gs (I think, I'm not too sure).

I've been playing the games for a few months now, and I'm just beginning to get the hang of the kind of skills required to play them properly (instead of just busking). When to focus, when not to, using the bombs, etc etc.

Is it in fact physically possible to do a complete no-damage run of Touhouvania? I'm guessing not; I can get up to Stage 3 Sakuya without losing a life), but it starts going downhill from there.

Is there any attack that's completely unavoidable? That's all that matters for being physically possible or not.

Theoretically, probably. But I think you'll have to be extraordinarily lucky to pull it off, especially during both times you fight Patchouli.

I still can't get the hang of jumping. And crash and burn at Cirno... I fail a bit too much at this game.

^No, no, it's undeniably difficult. It gives me only slightly less trouble than the original, first generation Castlevania games.

If you're finding Cirno difficult, it's probably because of the spellcard. You have time during the pink charge-up time to hit her once with your Marisa summon and twice with the whip. There's always a gap when the bullets fan out before they close in. Jump and hit Cirno once, before she fires her icicle, and then fly out; there's always a spot up and behind you where you can slip through the net, whichever way you're facing. If you try to hit her any more than that you'll get caught by the second ice projectile, which kills any time you may have otherwise had to escape.

My Touhouvania nemesis is Patchouli. Gah, Frickin' Laser Beams.

I never bothered with Touhouvania because I don't really like the old Castlevania games anyway. I might be more interested if it was a Metroid Vania.

Actually I thought it was going to be one of those at first. I wasn't disappointed when I found out that this wasn't going to be the case, though.

I'm better at platform games than shooting games, so I still have quite a lot of fun playing this. I'd forgotten how hard these games could be. ^_^;

Bump, becuase I have finally finished a Touhou game! Imperishable Night, Reimu/Yukari, two continues.

Okay, it's not that impressive (especially to other, more seasoned players frequenting this thread), but bear in mind that I've never completed any STG, let alone a Bullet Hell game.

I thought that was Super Marisa Land/World.

So far, I have seen fan games of soccer(Captain Tsubasa}, and Tennis. I would have like to see a baseball one in the style of Mario Super Baseball(of couse, I would have like to see that for The Simpsons, Bleach, Mega Man, and Naruto, as well).

Anyone else has a Touhou fan-game wish?

I'd like to see a fangame that does the opposite thing - instead of putting Touhou characters in the roles of other characters, it would have other characters in the roles of Touhou characters. In other words, Touhou with different characters.

a.k.a. Cly, that one girl who doesn't post here much anymore Something something YI = SMW 2 = SMB 5.

I wouldn't mind a Touhou-esque Nanoha Bullet Hell game...
