The doors in the Third Kalpa are not referring to Reasons at all, they're referring to your titles instead. You need to master at least two or more Dark Magatama to change your title to a Dark-aligned one.

Well that's going to be annoying to deal with. I've already mastered several Magatama and I don't think I have that many dark aligned ones left.
edit: Then again I have to go back anyway because I can't open the second Magic door or any of the Luck doors.
Also fuck Dante and his puzzle bullshit.

Are you pursuing the TDE? If so, the Magatama that you get at the start happens to be Dark-aligned. The Luck area also has the Neutral Door, which only has a Shady Broker that sells Deathstones for 100K Macca each.
Agreed about Dante.

I'm going for Freedom right now but I'm going to make a save right before the final dungeon. After I beat the game I'll come back to it eventually and do the TDE ending using that save. I just want to get as much done as possible.
That makes sense. If I recall correctly, reasons only affect a single door in the Fifth Kalpa, which will only give you its treasure if you're on the TDE.
Got Hagen, done with the White run. It actually might be my favourite ending. Not because I agree with the White, but because it actually made me feel something. Burroughs's "Master, I passive-agressively disagree, but I'm with you until the end" really got to me.
How many endings have you done?
Three. Only Chaos remains.
Right. So Lilith is dead.
I'll likely go and check if that damn Wind Generator has finally showed up, and if not, I'll just go through the reactor for a bit. If push comes to shove, I'll just try it later after I've gone full law if I can.
One Strip! One Strip!Holy muffins.
I finally got the Generator. That's all the challenge Quests I had left down. Now I'm at Ichigaya finally.
Soon, I'll be serving up some Law.
One Strip! One Strip!That sucks.
Are you saying that to me, or to ?
One Strip! One Strip! You, the alternative would have been "Good luck on your genocide mission".

Oh. Well thanks. I'll do my best.
Plus, it's Shin Megami Tensei. You're committing genocide nearly 2 out of three times anyway.
One Strip! One Strip!Been playing DDS 2. I've clocked about 22 hours and am surprised at how fast things escalated, I just got Serph back and it feels I'm almost at endgame now. I'm pondering over what endgame party I should use; I had to grind up Cielo since the party rotates a lot more in this game, and it's been fun using him, but he's still 10 levels under Gale, Serph and Sera which makes me think I should just take those three instead.
Invest in Cielo instead of Sera.

So I'm now in Infernal Tokyo.
If I recall right, there are no Challenge Quests here, so once I'm done in Shinjuku, I'll take on Kenji. After that I just have to tell the White to shove their heads up their asses and I'll be heading into uncharted territory. How long afterwards do I have to go before I get to the route split?
One Strip! One Strip! No, there are Challenge Quests in Infernal Tokyo. First one should be trying to find a TV or something like that.
Route split happens right after you complete Infernal Tokyo and refuse to play ball with the White.

...Hmm. I don't remember that. Did I miss it?
Well, I'll check after I'm done in Shinjuku.
Good to know about the split though.
One Strip! One Strip! There are a few sidequests in Infernal Tokyo, and some of them unlock after you defeat Mahamayuri. There's also a sidequest you can only get from talking to demons there (only one of these side quests, I think, though I may be mistaken).
Interesting. I don't remember that when I was shooting for the White ending before. I'll check around before I leave this time.
Thanks.
One Strip! One Strip! After you get Serph back I think there're only two dungeons left in the game?
'Course, one of them's super long.
Song of the SirensI can't be the only one who finds it amusing that the DDS Duology in some ways Darker then the mainline series at times?
It's something I noticed playing them.
Watch Symphogeari wouldnt say its all that darker, beyond the fact that the characters become stronger via cannibalization.
its a very down-beat story, but when you get right down to it, it never really shows you the misery that smt4 does at basically all times below mikado.
So I'm playing through the third Kalpa in Nocturne and I found a door saying I need a "Dark Reason" to open it. I'm not going for any of the Reason endings. Am I just locked out of whatever's behind that door?
