They had plenty that they never used from NINE before that though.

Shame that the DDS designs aren't reused besides Cerberus. He appears as a corrupted Cerberus in Imagine as a boss.

Would those work for a 3DS game? There's also space limitations to consider.
Considering 3DS cards go up to 8 gigabytes, no, not really anymore.

I sure said that!

IMAGINE and NINE both made a bunch of 3D models for older demons that are rarely seen anymore (Cyclops, Morrigan, the individual Harpy sisters, etc.) which have spectacularly failed to show up anywhere else. tongue

[up][up]Fair point. Pokemon XY managed to have over 700 Pokemon even if the models weren't quite as detailed. Although SMT 5 probably won't come until early 2017 at the earliest and by then the 3DS will be on its last legs.

[up] The lifespan of a game system is that short now? Or was it always and I just didn't notice? The N64 seemed to be around forever.

Even the Devil Survivor 2 Slot Machine has models for demons like Remiel.

[up][up]The 3DS will be six years old in March 2017. Its replacement will probably be out later that year if it isn't out in 2016.

The New 3DS really throws a wrench into things, though- It could well end up gradually replacing the weaker sister models instead of a totally new system.

I sure said that!

[up][up] Like I said, I didn't realize game systems were replaced that quickly.

[up]Really? Five or six years is about average. They sometimes get games later but generally that's the gap between the release of one system and its successor.

[up][up]I doubt it. The release of the D Si and D Si XL didn't have any major impact on the release of the 3DS. While it's more powerful the N 3 DS is ultimately an upgraded 3DS instead of a new system entirely.

Also some of the largest games on the 3DS concerning size never reached 8 GB from what I recall. Record Breaker has one of the highest at 3.8 GB, while Wii Game Xenoblade was 3.5 GB.

All that voice acting man.

[up][up]Those were, however, ultimately not stronger than the DS in terms of processing power- They were DS systems with slightly better online functionality and cameras, whereas the N 3 DS is roughly twice as fast as the first 3DS models. It's genuinely different- And more expensive to manufacture- Internally, instead of just being the same old thing with some bells and whistle added.

Unusual circumstances are making it harder to say, though, that's really all I'm getting at.

[up]So yeah, space concerns are not really concerns at all anymore.

I sure said that!

And even then I wouldn't be surprised if there were still 3DS games made until 2019 or so.

I feel like there would have been a bit more fanfare if it was meant to be the new system. It seems tailored more for the hardcore audience.

Either way I doubt Atlus would make a mainline SMT game exclusive to it. SMT has a niche audience already.

IV did do better than any non-Persona Atlus game, it was just announced. So there must be some interest in mainline.

Mainline at least. It sold in its first few weeks almost the entire sales Nocturne had over the years.

The early Devil Children games did pretty well and got an anime as a result. Not sure what they were thinking concerning Demikids considering it didn't come close to Red/Black.

IIRC I read it did better than Catherine, which was apparently the best non-Persona game.

Yeah I heard Catherine sold decently as well.

At least SMT will be seen as profitable now. I'm hoping that means we get 5 in 2016 or 17 instead of 2023.

SMTV must have Demon-Amie. Even Fire Emblem's doing it now for YHVH's sake...

Only if the angels say you're going to burn in hell for making them happy, while Arioch licks you with his Vagina Stomach and Mara's head leaves the screen to do a Maralagidyne.

It's always hard to say if Catherine should or shouldn't be counted within the SMT series, too, so it doing so well despite being an imprint that might not even be an imprint is a hell of a thing, and even more so when you consider its genre.

I sure said that!

I'm now at 20% Compendium in SH! MC is level 34 now which I still feel is a bit behind, but much less than before.

Like Desu2 Record Breaker the Compendium goes beyond 100%.

Also they're still doing the DLC demons last I checked. At least I got a notification about it last week.
