Nice to get confirmation on the rest of the Qadištu members' identities. I'm hoping we'll get a new trailer soon where we can see more scenes with them, preferably while speaking.
Also hoping to see if any of the demons found in the code of V but not actually in the game will end up in Vengeance. I really want to see Maitreya in 3D.
Apologies for double-posting, but there was a recent tweet from Atlus which contains commentary from Doi Masayuki about Lilith's new design. It's in Japanese, though this Reddit comment has a rough translation, with the most relevant parts being:
So I'm guessing that it's possible that both Base Game Lilith and Qadištu Lilith will co-exist in Vengeance, with the former being a Night demon while the latter is a Femme demon.

Honestly super happy that their designs aren't just four versions of "Generic Evil Sexy Tempting Demon Lady"
Heart of StoneI do like how Vengeance!Lilith is a good amalgamation of her two Kaneko designs and I appreciate the touches of her snake now being red to strengthen the connection to Samael and the wings and feather color harkening to her owl association.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsThe idea of "Lilith" being Adam's first wife goes back to a tenth century book of ribald short stories. It's a pet peeve of mine that it tends to get treated as a piece of actual doctrine, especially from the "see how sexist these religions are!?" crowd.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.I mean.
Jesus was born in summer and didn't die or resurrect on Easter. The Quest for the Holy Grail is a Welsh story, and the Bible doesn't say anything about Hell and basically nothing about the afterlife.
And the snake in the Garden was just a snake.
I could keep going.
EDIT: Non-religious directly comparable example though: the whole virgin and unicorn thing is the oldest dirty joke that still exists. It takes one mythical creature to find another.

I was amused to learn recently that some scholars now believe that the Book of Jonah originated as an intentionally over-the-top parody of Biblical miracle stories that was added to the real Bible by mistake in ancient times!
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Strain 42 has done a video on neglected demons.
Another tweet from the Atlus account showcases a clip of Naamah speaking. They got Female Byleth to do her voice, and it's a pretty good fit.
She definitely does the "Teleporting Blonde" bit better than Dazai did.
Dazai is just such an easy punching bag that I unironically sympathize with him.
I'm pretty sure that even if he's playable and joins us on the Law route this time around, he'll still die a humiliating death.
This is what I get for changing alignments for this one game.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.20 year anniversary of Digital Devil Saga is later this year. Think we'll get any news on a remake or remaster or even basic port?
Since Byleth was mentioned I want to ask how much of the 72 Goetia Demons were in Negate games.
(FYI, Byleth's name came from one of them, as were Shez' and Sitri's)

The majority of the Goetia demons have shown up at some point, though a good chunk of them have not been seen in decades. We are only missing nine (Beleth is one of those nine).

Oh wow, so apparently the new girl posse aren't Night OR Femme race, but a new/so old it might as well be new race called "Joma" in Japanese.
According to the wiki page on Femme, the term "Joma" (女魔) has been used for Femme demons before, but it seems like it was used in Majin Tensei.

Yup, but that game never came out over here so who knows how it would have been translated.
didn't Beleth show up in Devil Survivor? If so, Maybe the other eight popped up in spinoffs as well?
Edited by MorningStar1337 on Mar 27th 2024 at 11:28:04 AM
I do not see Beleth in the list of Bel demons from Devil Survivor. Are you thinking of Belberith? Because the page of Goetia demons linked to before includes demons from the entire franchise, spinoffs included.
That might be it. Sorry.
I completed Ronaldo's ending on Devil Survivor 2 and overall it was a wake-up call that when I do the following routes I'm going to have to play a lot more intelligently because about half the bosses were pretty brutal and I only barely managed to eeke out some of those wins, lol. (I think a selling point for going Meritorious or Kingmaker is that you don't have to fight Yamato at the Tsuutenkaku)
For Polaris in particular not only do you need to build a demon team with lots of Physical protection, but you also need good movement-augmenting demons since if you can't get around the final maps quickly you're in for a bad time.
It's not quite as bad on the final day, but I still call BS on the free battles not updating quickly enough for decent grinding on the last two days. Though I guess with Record Breaker I could utilize that DLC mission that scales to your level...
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsThe Macca DLC is the best one for that. The enemies flee instead of you being hounded by all enemies with good synergy.
The Shiva boss fight at the highest levels can be a pain to deal with in any of those dlc.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.New tweet from Atlus, this time showcasing the scene where Eisheth introduces herself.
Managed to beat Shemyaza is one try, but it was narrow. Judgment is so overpowered.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
KINMAMON FUCKING GET!
He's extremely useful because he has Judgment, which instantly shaves off a quarter of non-Neutral enemies' health. And I've got Shemyaza coming up, obnoxious as he is, and also Chaotic...
