You can buy one at WildKat though. Which one varies, although for some reason putting the card into a different DS can change it.

Bah, Darklit Planet set. I would totally complete it, if that didn't involve beating the Bonus Boss on Hard or Ultimate. I'll pass, thanks.

As a general question, who here doesn't have a Shockwave pin in their deck? xD

Enlong: Yessss. I don't use it normally, cause I'm always trying to master pins, but against bosses, it's great.

I think I took out my shockwace pin eventually. It's max attack value is pretty low, and I found a melee pin that was both much higher and reasonably easy to use. And if it wasn't for those damn frogs I'd be entirely ranged, anyway.

What's Splish Splash Barrier?

I bought pin that the Bonus Boss drops on ultimate off of Hanekawa. So I was able to complete the set before I was capable of that fight. Then it turned out that the set doesn't have enough healing to be able to get me through it, making it entirely useless.

Splish-Splash Barrier is a shield that makes you invulnerable AND heals you while you use it. WIN.

Splish Splash Barrier is, well... Do you have a Crackle Pop Barrier? They're the same psych, press and hold on Neku, and he surrounds himself with a shield that defends against attacks. But while Crackle Pop Barrier harms enemies that approach Neku, Splish Splash Barrier heals you while its active. And unlike the other healing pins, like Cure Drink, it has no set number of uses; you just have to wait for it to reboot.

However, its rebootboot time is pretty painful (like 40 seconds), so I wouldn't use it in place of another healing pin. Rather, you should use it in tandem with another one.

Like, for example, I'm going to have SSB, a Peace Full for emergencies, and a Psych Support to increase the uses of Peace Full.

And yeah, Shockwave. It's a fun psych, though the speed I need to slash for Yoshimitsu is a bit... much.

Hylarn: I agree, Shockwave pins are pretty weak attack wise, but it's a good basic attack, and they usually reboot quickly, so they're not totally useless.

I never found the barriers that useful. They just didn't heal that much, were awkward to use, and almost invariably destroyed the light puck. Since my play style revolved around keeping it maxed out...

For the main game shockwave is reasonably powerful. It's once you hit the post game and find out that it's not going to get upgraded that they start looking weak.

Eh, the light puck's not that hard to build up. Then again, I also have some article of clothing on Neku that makes the light puck multiplier build faster, so I probably don't have a point here.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but who is everyone's favorite partner? Gameplay-wise, not personality. Mine would probably be Joshua, with Shiki as second. I hate Beat's entire card and battle system with a fiery, burning passion.

Heh. Just beat Konishi (I admit I had to look up some of the more... arcane things I had to do to fight her, but...) and in the second phase, I inadvertently discovered a 3-attack chain Neku is able to use on ther that completely locked her down when she was on Neku's screen.

When she shows up, I pop her into the air twice with Kusanagi. Then I use Jelly to greate a lightning glyph where she's going to land, which stunlocks her for a while. Once that's done, I spray her with Innocence Beam, by which time Kusanagi had rebooted. Rinse and repeat, with the occasional pause to heal for the next phase.

Technically, Crackle Pop and Splish Splash are different but related psychs (Fire Barrier and Aqua Barrier, respectively). They have a cousin called Creepy Weepy Barrier that combines the two effects, but doesn't reboot (its psych is Dark Barrier). Dark Saturn also has the Dark Barrier psych, with the extra bonus of you being able to move.

Mmm. True.

Arg Kitanji's last form. I can't do damage fast enough, and I keep running out of heals.

And? The first time I fought him, I had the misfortune of having my Peace Full pin evolve into Thanx right before the fight, so I had fewer heals, and less powerful ones.

I found Kitaniji wasn't too bad if you just zoomed around dodging his lasers and bubbles of doom while sniping him with Lightning Rook. Splish Splash Barrier is godly, also. Provided you can stay alive for forty seconds or so while it recharges, it's infinite healing by itself.

Eh Lightning Rook.

Problem is, you get that pin right before you fight Kitanji's other two forms, so it's underleveled and you haven't gotten any time to try it out.

Thunder Rook is still damn broken when you first get it. Particularly for the final boss, since all of the four hits will get the light puck modifier and it's piercing, so you can hit more than one head at a time.

Shiki is my favorite. She's built around reliable comboing, so I can maintain a 5x multiplier easily. Joshua is passable, but having to make him levitate to be useful pisses me off. And Beat is useless on higher difficulties, since his cards get flushed before he can get stars, and fusions are what he was built around.

Seriously, the difference was astounding. I went from scrambling to deal even a tiny bit of damage with my trusty Innocence Beam/Jelly/Kusanagi combo, to frying three of his heads at once with a single pin.

Plus using Splish Splash Barrier to tank his Bubble/Bite combo.

So what if Lightning Rook and Splish Splash are widely used, they're awesome.

So... the ending...

I think I get why Neku went "Why... What the HELL?!" He was shocked at why Joshua decided to spare Shibuya, even after he refused to duel him.

That's another possibility. I suppose either way works, because if it was the latter, he's quickly proven very wrong.

I liked how in Konishi's boss fight, you end up killing her with the pin she made to manipulate you.

...Huh. I just realized something. Kariya is probably even better in a fight then his boss fight suggests. Remember? He was wearing a Red Skull pin, which cuts his speed in half.

But didn't she crush... oh right. She didn't make Noise!Rhyme into a pin, she reduced her to a pin.

Right, now I remember; the order of events was: Rhyme gets erased, Hakenoma turns what's left into a pin, Beat summons the noise from the pin, and Konishi crushes the noise and turns it into a pin again. Right.

Edit: I think I came up with a better version ofthe idea I had earlier.

Use something like Octo Squeeze to gather Noise into one spot, then paralyze them with, say, LIVE! or something like that, and then charge and kill them with a Massive Hit psych.

The thing about massive hit pins is that they're really inefficient. Something I had a lot of fun with was the infinite dash set. I forget exactly which three pins it is, but one of them is Wolf and the charge times match up to let you dash forever. The dash gives you invincibility and does damage, so it's fantastic if you do it right.

Nice. I've always been a fan of the....was it Masamune that gave the big shockwave psych? Yeah, I had a decent combo with that evolution set.

Masamune for decent combo, Murasame, do it again just as they fall, then hit them with lightning rook before they can get up. By that time, masemune is back.

By the way, what XP do you need to evolve murasume?

It took a lot of Shutdown PP to evolve my Masamune/Murasame/whatever pin into Yoshimitsu.
