This is just pathetic. Somewhere Seth Mcfarlane is calling this over the top bullshit.

I also learned that Baby Colic is why I tend to hate babies so much. I hope we develop some kind of miracle cure for it.

Cracked... you do not do political satire well.

When you do, it's when you do research and actually demonstrate things rather than just say "gosh, the right-wing, right? They're poopooheads."

Incidentally, this is up there for "least self-aware title".

[up]I'm actually pleasantly surprised that they didn't go with the obvious usual suspects there.

[up][up]The color blind stuff makes sense, not too sure about the rest. Like, I somehow doubt that cavemen cared about acne that much when personal hygiene consisted of "Maybe don't put bugs in your open wounds" and most were going to die at 30.

http://www.cracked.com/article_24156_5-real-world-problems-with-superheroes-movies-dont-address.html

Okay, seriously guys. Fun article, but No. 3 is literally the entire plot to the season. From day 1 there are randos going "oh yeah, Kilgrave made me do it" and as the article said, the entire season is about proving a woman was forced to do it against her will.

I mean, still a good point but that's kind of the exact opposite of "not addressed" when it's "the basic plot of the series."

I take it the article means "Doesn't ask the question about, then provides the answer too all possible situations", when number 3 comes up.

Number 5 and 2 are the funniest ones though.

As a Neopets user, at least the good news is that it's now owned by Jumpstart, which will probably remove the scientology stuff. I hope.

And now, for something to remind you that people are still capable of being awesome: 24 news stories too hopeful for the media to report.

Man, they really should do these every month or so.

"the issue is, the ones who did it "for Isis" seemingly had no prior interest in radical Islam; there's no evidence of them living lives that represent those values, or proselytizing, or getting involved in any other religious activity. If someone were truly interested in Islamic fundamentalism, you'd expect them to have done copious research on the subject, to have tons of material related to it laying around, or maybe to have been brought up in that kind of environment. That doesn't seem to be the case in most of these.

Similarly, the two listed here that targeted police claimed to be inspired by BLM, but there's no evidence of their having shown any interest in it before the shootings. They didn't protest, they didn't obsessively collect stories of police abuses, they didn't rant about to their friends and family; nothing. And you look at Dylan Roof, and his supposed allegiance to white supremacist thought, but again, there's no evidence he was involved with those groups, no evidence he educated himself on their beliefs, no sign he immersed himself in that lifestyle...nothing. And for yet another example, the Isla Vista creep spouted a lot about MRA and red-pill crap, but it's not something he was heavily involved in until he decided it explained the feelings he already had and justified what he already wanted to do.

And to me, that's the key, here: these are all people who latched on to an ideology they often didn't understand to justify their actions. And if those ideologies didn't exist, I'm guessing most would have found another. It's just my theory, but if you're looking for common threads, I'm thinking it's pretty clear: these are people whose lives didn't live up to some ideal they thought they deserved. Regardless of whether those lives were perfectly ordinary, even enviable, or truly pathetic and sad, they fell short of what these people felt was their birthright. They felt the world owed them something, and they wanted revenge against whoever it was they deemed responsible for "cheating" them. Then, they found an ideology that explained it in terms that made sense to them. But anything that gave them an explanation beyond their own bad decisions and sheer dumb luck would have sufficed; they'd have grabbed onto anything that made it not their fault, or not completely out of their control to fix; anything that gave them a target they could direct their rage against."

Best coment I find

Blockbuster Movie Will Burst in 2018

Not this shit again.

As noted by the comments, they have been saying this cockshit for almost half a decade by now.

[up] For some reason Cracked won't load, but let me guess one of the reasons they say this is because of repetitive plots and lack of variety.

In this case, it's less that and more that there's 40 blockbuster movies slated for 2018. That could be a legitimate problem, especially since the scheduling indicates that some studios actually have multiple movies premiering against each other.

I don't know if that will actually happen, but Cracked's predicted this so often that they're moving into Chicken Little territory here.

One of these years, Cracked will actually be right about it. And the only proper response will be: "Congratulations to all of you who predicted this. In my mind, I am picturing a dart board, every available space riddled with darts."

Even if it doesn't burst, 2018 is going to be very interesting for movies.
