I've plugged The Mansion of E here before, but I just made it to my ten-year anniversary, so I'm doing it again!

There are people that have shifted from hosts to keep the dance going but at least it fires up the old neurons...

I just started one, and I planning out the rest of it now.

http://alikeindignity.smackjeeves.com/

It's based on my original work I have in TV tropes but with a lot of updates and character development. It's sort of getting on it's feet right now but when it really gets going I have a lot of ideas for it.

Just a word of advice... make sure you build a buffer of updates. The reason is that same error a lot of us make that we do an update dump and real life makes sure we get busy as hell so the updates aren't that constant.

A buffer of updates?

Forgive me for it is a bit late and I'm getting rather dozy but what's that? Ah now I know. and I'm working on it.

Right now I'm trying to get the prologue out of the way but in the future i have this idea of updating bimonthly.

(I have just about all the pages of the prologue planned. Yeah yeah I know prologues. But this one introduces the concept of Psi and gives and idea of their society , plus introducing a future villain.)

This is an example though:

  • You update at Mondays and have a leftover of 2 update pages, keep those at hand.
  • If at the next updating Monday you have no problems on making a new or new pages then put the older update pages on the recent pages.
  • Now if you have a busy week and you can't work a new page during the week and it is Monday, your updating day, then you go to your Update stash and use one of the older update pages to update said day.
  • Said page will be a cushion for you to be able to keep on updating regularly.

Also take into account that the term is linked (as far as I can think of) to the Buffering of a video online. Given that you are getting a temporal extra data to be played at the moment just to be consumed once you are done with it.

In short words you make a stash of extra pages so you can keep on updating on your update days in case you can't update on those days due to real life consuming you.

Edit: Seems you got the idea when rationalizing. A little word of advice seek another person to help you purge any plot holes and any Mary Sue stuff in your work, Still got a few words on what you have done so far in terms of drawing though:

You have got a decent work on your lines and the effects, not sure if you are using a program or just doing it the "old school" way, I am guessing that your readers will see and or expect an Art Evolution along with the story.

Story wise I can't say much as it is as you said the first pages of the prologue, that is for another part of the forum like World Building and or Writer's Block (when you hit it).

If the coloring is done by hand then you have got a good grasp if not it is still done nicely (talking from experience and why I don't do colors in my side).

And welcome to the hell that is drawing hands, my personal advice: See how your hand looks when doing a movement and heck use one of your hands as a model when drawing some actions. That little thing saved me some trouble even if it looked weird at the moment.

My friend who has several webcomics started has not updated in months. She was working on a few the last I heard of it, though.

The problem for people when working on multiple series is that in the end the time needed for them is important and a lot of times a lot of authors lose track of it. Considering how hard it is to keep track of one storyline in a comic and all the sub-stories the work piles up if you do many of them. Now back to the pencils for me.

I opened up a thread for it, by the way.

The thread is still ongoing the only fact is that it works a bit slower than the rest.

Good to see people promoting more works which can lead to more ideas flowing.

I have a webcomic parodying zombies in particular and horror in general. It's called "Aim 4 The Head", it updates once every Sunday (sometimes earlier) and can be found here: http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=138048 EDIT: this comic features violence and gore, most of the time as black comedy, so it's definitely NSFW!!!

[up] Well the other thing that you might have to do is create a works page for it. Just find which tropes you use and fire away.

[up] sad I have been trying to do that the last few days, but I just couldn´t even get the first step done (modifying the https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/NamespaceGoesHere/TitleGoesHere seems not possible as the page is currently locked) I also tried modifying the URL but I don´t know how to do that.

You could try asking for help in one of the Wiki and Forums forums or in the FAQ one. They're generally pretty helpful and friendly there.

The other option is to list the tropes used (no links unless you can say "chapter X page Y" to avoid the linking outside the pages. Also I worked around the YKTTW to help with the directions and ask people to help with that one.

Just do it via that option and ask there, sure it is another option of the "work pages are free launch" but by asking if the trope use is right you can actually get a lot done. Also don't worry a lot of us make mistakes and I will see what I can help with when I get some time (Uni eats time like a black hole).

Well I finally managed to start mine (doing a red link was the magic trick) It will probably take a while to fill it with troopes tongue, every time I find one that fits I will ad it (instead os trying to create the whole page on one sit) I recommend you to do the same Twentington

The page in question: Restaurante Macoatl.

It will probably need more examples, and soon. If I recall, five is considered the recommended number.

Also, as an English focused wiki, we require that everything be written with proper English grammar and spelling. You have grammar problems in particular, and need to address them. If English is not your first language, try posting in this thread.

Sorry if I sound like I'm raining on your parade, but if you don't fix those things (especially the latter, as it can result in a suspension), there will be problems later on.

Also, no one speaks Mexican; the correct term is Spanish.
