last time I checked wikipedia it said that sociopathy lacked one trait that psychopaths have, can't remember what it was tough..... If you look to close to the human brain and see the hormones at work, you begin to think this person had no choice but to act the way he did, but the combination of those hormones ARE his free will. Anyway denying being sick is one of the symptoms, so psychopathy can never be cured even if the psychological base had been discovered.

Whether it's an inherited trait or not also doesn't matter when looking at how society should deal with psychopaths. They're mentally ill, so they should be treated as such. No matter whether they were born with it, developed it due to a tragic childhood, or served as a host for aliens that left their minds scarred.
