With Cream, I don't think it's confirmed if it just erases things or sends them to some sort of void dimension. Not that the latter would help Avdol because he'd starve, suffocate or just bleed to death. And the former would be an even big middle finger to the conservation of mass than Stands already were
I figured it was just straight up disintegration. But the way The Hand works makes that seem unlikely.
I wonder if the reason Jotaro can stop time has something to do with DIO being fused to Jonathan's body. Jonathan has a Hermit Purple looking Stand, his grandson has Hermit Purple and great-granddaughter some sort of vine-like stand. Relatives tend to have similar Stands, so since DIO is technically related because of the Grand Theft Me he Jotaro may have gotten some of The World from that
Idk. While you may argue that Crazy Diamond looks like The World and Stone Free shares a "vine" theme with her strings, DIO's sons have wildly different Stands (Gold Experience, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sky High, Underworld...)
... And that's called jazz! The World is DIO's stand, stands come from the soul not the body.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I'm just trying to find a reason for why Jotaro can stop time beyond Ass Pull
It's never *not* going to be an asspull since it wasn't foreshadowed. I love Jo Jo, but even I have to admit that.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"How different would Star Platinum be if it actually stuck with the whole Super Hamon/teleportation powers?

Unless you count his shenanigans during the poker game. Then again, that most definitely must've been about SP's speed rather than any time-stopping abilities.
... And that's called jazz!...why would you not want it to be an asspull?
Do I have to find the clip of Joseph manipulating the wool of a hat into a giant, restrictive web, making two linked sections of said web so that Esidisi wouldn't see the second one coming?
Or Stray Cat possessing a flower and making a perch in Killer Queen's torso?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I've seen the theory that some of Star Platinum's super speed was actually Jotaro unconsciously stopping time for a few miliseconds. Unlikely, but if you want to belieeeeeeve.
I've always understood that as being an effect of Stray Cat's stand.
Wait, how is the AC/DC thing an asspull?
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"TBH stopping time does feel like a somewhat logical progression to super speed/reflexes, which Star Platinum has.
The Requiem stands are far worse in this regard. Chariot Requiem feels like an entirely different stand all together.
There's an argument to be made that the stand arrow gives you exactly what you need in times of desperation.
That's literally what it's done every single time in regards to the "requiem" stands.
Star Platinum has super speed because it has super speed. I see no reason to believe otherwise, especially given that the other Joestars (Joseph aside) have similarly fast Stands and no time stop powers.
It has machine like precision and reflexes too, as seen by it catching the lovers,. The later Joestar stands are fast too but Star Platinum's take on it is sort of its specialty, so it's potential to expand on it is probably greater compared to like Stone Free or Crazy Diamond.
It always bothered me when Koichi and Jotaro were in the store fighting Sheer Heart Attack and trying to get to Kira's jacket to read the name on it that Star Platinum couldn't just read the name on the nametag from across the store with his telescopic vision.
It's not really telescopic so much as extremely precise.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Jotaro wouldn't have been able to see it. Just Star Platinum. Jotaro can't see what Star Platinum sees, which is why he couldn't just beat The Lovers immediately. Star Platinum can convey what it sees (per the sketch), but we don't know if it retains that kind of information.
Seems like whether or not the user can see out of their stands is depends on the individual stand itself.
As with basically every other trait Stands have. Even the rules they say are a thing get broken.
Remember when Star Platinum could extend his finger like a bullet?
Probably erased from existence.
