But jokes aside I think it's pretty easy to extrapolate that part 3 and 4 left lasting damage that he just can't keep up with by the time part 6 comes.

Plus I know I said jokes aside but the guy clearly can't look after himself that well, he goes from a herculean physique when he lives with his mom to lanky by the time he's been estranged/divorced for years.

I mean... to be fair... being estranged/divorced does that to a person.

And losing basically all of your friends to vampires and gangsters with time-manipulating abilities.

Star Platinum still hits like a truck though... just not with enough force to truck-kun Pucci.

I liked the idea that you needed to be inhuman to realize the absolute full potential of stopping time. Five seconds seems to be the theoretical human maximum, granted there's nothing really proving that other than the fact that Jotaro and alternate world Diego never get beyond there. Meanwhile once DIO has more fully integrated Jonathan's body his time stop only gets stronger and seems to indicate that there will eventually be no upper limit to how long he can keep time stopped.

Even aside from that, DIO being a superhuman vampire also meant he could do a lot more damage in the stopped time than a regular human being. Though for the most part he left the real heavy lifting to The World.

Though that doesn't explain why Star Platinum loses durability, with its Persistence going from A in Part III to E in Part VI.

That's what I meant by the Stand itself becoming more frail.

"Durability" in the Stand Stats doesn't actually mean physical durability to block attacks, that's a mistranslation. A better translation would be "Persistence" or "Stamina". We actually get two Stand Stat screens for Star Platinum in Part 6. The first one is when Jotaro visits her in the prison:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0018_025.jpg

And the second one is when he returns for the final battle. This is the one where "Stamina" drops from A to E and "Growth Potential" goes from Perfected to C.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0149_017.jpg

In the first fight, Star Platinum's Time Stop is only 2 seconds, but Jotaro managed to extend it to 5 seconds in the final battle, in exchange for a hit to his Stamina. Presumably the "Growth Potential" being at C refers to the possibility that Jotaro could train Star Platinum back up to his prime level of an A in Stamina with 5 second Time Stop.

If there's one band that I'm surprised Araki hasn't referenced more, it's The Who. To my knowledge, I'm pretty sure the only Who reference we've gotten was Tamami's Stand, but even then, "The Rock" is a pretty unremarkable instrumental piece, and Quadrophenia's known for being an epic Rock Opera Γ  la The Wall. I'd give anything to see a reference to a song from Tommy or Who's Next. Although, while it's indisputable that Araki's a Breaking Bad fan, I take it he doesn't watch CSI.

Has Araki even referenced Elton John? I don't remember any stand with one of his songs.

Though there's quite a lot of weird and honestly unexpected references in JoJo's, from Hatfield and the North to Kanye West to *checks notes* three Nelly references (technically) to the Allman Brothers Band and these are all just from SBR.

...three Nelly references? To be fair, some of his songs ("Hot in Herr", "Shake ya Tailfeather", "Batter Up", "Over and Over") or associated acts (The St. Lunatics) would make good stand names, but that's still a surprise.

[up] yup, in the Steel Ball Run there's a racer named Nellyville, whose horse is named Country Grammar, (spoiler I guess?) (he actually ends up in 5th place in the race!) and a horse named #1 (possibly after No. 1).

I was curious to see what the highest-rated chapters of the original manga would be based on reviews for the anime on IMDb, and the results, while somewhat expected, still interest me.

10. C-Moon

9. Gold Experience Requiem

8. Crazy Diamond is Unbreakable

7. King Crimson vs. Metallica

6. Heavy Weather

5. Another One Bites the Dust

4. The Mystery of King Crimson

3. Made in Heaven

2. DIO's World

1. What a Wonderful World

I wonder if Jojolands will ever reference Jojolion's events. Like I thought Charming Man was a rock person but then he isn't.

Rocks and lava sound like a good middle ground.

Plus the references to the flow of energy.

Jojolands chapter 14 is out.

Meryl comes up with a plan to get all of the land deeds currently held by Howler Co. by having the group head to the state land registry and touching the lava rock to the original deeds of ownership. Her logic is that by using the rock on the original deeds - not copies - that the land rights themselves should be what come back to them, land rights worth 50 billion dollars. Everything seems to go well enough, in spite of Usagi drawing unwanted attention to them. However as he, Dragona, and Charmingman are leaving Usagi begins vomiting uncontrollably and developing what appear to be rocky patches on his skin.

Probably the most interesting thing to me this chapter is Charmingman. He was shedding like crazy while they were in the registry, and when Usagi starts getting violently sick he asks if Usagi has a chronic illness of some kind. It's curious that his mind went there rather than to a potential Stand attack.

I really like how much the main groups Stands lend themselfs to creative uses in non combat scenarios.

And again we have something that seems to hint towards Rock Humans, but will probably turn out to be another fakeout.
