The incident where Athena shows up in her Alice form and refers to Hayate and Hinagiku as her parents. Hayate then starts wondering if it's possible he doesn't remember sleeping with Hinagiku.
Hmm. The night he's probably referring to is Hinagiku's birthday. Don't remember if he was going to make a joke about it in that part though.
Chapter 544: Plot happens. Interesting twist on the Midas fable.

The exact scene:
Hayate: How could this happen? Hinagiku-san and I have a child?
Hinagiku: Don't YOU start too!
Risa: Hayata-kun, when was this blessed event?
Hayate: When...? Gasp! Maybe it was that night-
(Hinagiku attacks Hayate with Shirozakura)
Hinagiku: Some jokes are off-limits, Hayate-kun!
Hayate: Sorry! Couldn't resist!

Sounds like the birthday night to me.
Ah, so we're finally back to King Midas.
Late realization: Oruzomoto Nadja is the goddess who's so far only appeared in the volume omakes!
Small world! This is her ticket into the main story!
But...50 years of one's lifespan? Talk about high-risk wishing.
That Hisui really is crazy. And she had the Hylian Shield in her mansion!
So you've finally appeared, Aoi Himegami!!
Ha, so Yozora was a part of King Midas all along!
Heh, it really is the homestretch for this manga, isn't it?
New chapter out.
The start of the finale (?!). Why are all these long runners ending
On the bright side, maybe Shonen Jump English will pick it up now. Waiting for the graphic novels to come out is ridiculous, given that they're being translated at a rate of two volumes per year.
New chapter out.
It's good to know that even with the endgame supposedly approaching we still have time for romcom misunderstandings.
We need on panel reaction shots when-not if, WHEN-Athena casually drops her status as Hayate's first master and original girlfriend.
It will happen and it will be glorious.
Come to think of it Hina already knows about Hayate and Athena... oh yes.

The only one who is really completely ignorant about all this and actually matters is Nagi. I think it's just about guaranteed that she's going to cause the explosion of negative energy unless this has all been a big fakeout.
I dunno, playing that off as a joke right now would be kind of weird.

Nagi was always going to get her heart broken: Hayate never loved her that way, and he adamantly refuses to marry her for other reasons. She'll get over him, though it will hurt.
552 did an effect job of making me lose a large chunk of the investment I still had in the series. And also making me annoyed with Ayumu, though I've never really liked her.. But so long as we don't get something like 'Nagi realizes Hayate doesn't love her -> throws a hissy fit and opens the way to the garden -> Hayate realizes he loves her after all -> Hayate goes and saves her/snaps her out of her senses' then I probably don't mind whatever ending we get.
553: Oh, is Hayate finally going to catch one? Neat.
Hm. I don't think we ever really heard how Nagi's mom died, did we?
... No, we haven't. Talk about a surprise.
Ha...Hahahahaha... Impossible, there's no way that's actually Yukariko! They just have similar tastes in fashion, that's all!
...Or maybe it's like this; Nadja shaved her lifespan with the side-effect of getting amnesia. And her being deathly ill. But that's impossible because shouldn't Mikado know of her survival first and foremost?
Anyway, the Despair Hammer's gonna drop on Nagi soon enough...
It really does look like Hata's not going to go for a particular ship in the end. What a shame.
Hinagiku should get to confess, at least.
This feels really rushed the last few weeks. It's like there's a bunch of chapters missing. But there we go, Nagi found out and is now at a bad enough low to open the way to the garden. Also, Hayate parents.

Man, villains are supposed to be awful, but those two are so sick and horrifying I legitimately do not want to know what their plans are. They were supposed to be a gag, not something traumatic for the reader.
You're going to have to be a bit more specific than that. I can't recall.
Updates on the manga:
