Even if I don't like series much, the color page where Mavis and Zeref obviously have sex in the river they were in was kinda cute, and I'll give mashima that his color pages can look good when he wants them too.

Remember when Natsu and Lisanna were suppose to be a thing? Not even Peperidge Farm remembers.

They were never a thing in the manga. The anime played it up because the staff liked it.

That explains a lot, actually. You'd still think we'd see more of her considering how her actually being alive was a big deal.

Why was she brought back alive when her existence ended up being relatively irrelevant in the long run?

Not sure. I think Mashima saw her popularity due to the Adaptation Expansion in the anime and decided to bring her back or something.

Funny, since I've said that Edolas was basically where the Seasonal Rot began, and that moment is probably the first example.

And I liked Lissana's reunion with her family back when I watched it.

Shame, because the Lisanna angle had potential.

They haven't even interacted in a meaningful way in hundreds of chapters. It's like Mashima brought her back just to give Mira and Elfman a happier ending and just forgot that she was also tied to Natsu's character.

What'cha gonna do, she's not the first character to be complete and utter waste of potential.

Yeah he just wanted that big heartwarming moment there. He did say he didn't want Fairy Tail to be sad or tragic. Sadly this ends up wasting character development & shit. Lissana worked better as a constant reminder of failure for her siblings & helped them grow as people after the tragedy.

He also most likely wanted more tail to draw.

When Gildarts asked about lisana was that anime only when he assumed that Natsu and Lisana were probably a couple by the time he returned from his long mission.

I think it was in the manga as well actually. He definitely didn't know she'd died due to being gone so long.

I'm sure the manga also had at least one joke about there being a bit of a love triangle with Natsu, Lucy, and Lissana. It was in Juvia's head and she was going over who all in the guild liked who, and in her mind Natsu was pointed towards both Lucy and Lissana (she had everyone pointing towards Gray).

I don't think I wanted to see the warm up to Mavis and Zeref boning.

I know, he should've shown us August's conception in all its glory, not half heartedly like this.

New chapter:

Jellal has grabbed more Death Flags than his Edoloas Twin grabbed Phantom Lord flags.

And Mashima forgets he already has someone who does magical writing so he can put Lucy in danger again.

Huzzah.

At least now, no matter what happens, this victory is going to be due to Lucy and nothing can take that away.

I don't know. You underestimate Mashima's ability to botch the dismount.

Like for instance, they really took away Acno's juggernaut-ness here what with a ship outrunning him & not doing anything like blasting it outta the sky, succumbing to his motion sickness (I know that's a weakness all D-Slayer's share but it still doesn't make it any less stupid seeing him suffer from it) & Jellal actually pushing him back when it took another dragon to do that last time.

Also I wonder if Zeref is thinking "Oh my God why won't he die? What the hell does it take to keep these idiots down?" I mean I kinda feel bad for the baddies, its prolly really, really annoying how no one backs down or falls unconscious from their injuries like a normal person, heheh.

Looks like Wendy's using Dragon Force again; guess she learned how to use it on her own like Natsu did.

Pretty sure we already saw she could do that at the end of the Avatar arc or whatever that stupid group's name was.
