It's funny when you realize that all of that scheming was ultimately a consequence of another Evil Plan. Even more so since the true goal was nothing that complex — Luxu just needed a scenario where Keyblade wielders would fight each other.

And Sora is a Disney protagonist. KH is a Disney game. All original KH characters belong to Disney.

Disney owns The Simpsons too, but I'm not sure I'd call Bart Simpson a Disney protagonist.

Heck, most of the time we don't think of Pixar protagonists as Disney protagonists even though Pixar is owned by Disney.

Disney owns KH and its original characters (as well as the Disney characters obviously), but the creative beats and plots are more in line with Squeenix stuff.

Disney made KH with Square Enix, they didn't make The Simpsons.

Sora's outfit in KH 1 was inspired by Mickey Mouse.

Yeah, I get that. But even then Sora never really fit the story beats of a typical Disney protagonist.

OTOH, he doesn't really fit the Shonen anime protagonist mold brought up earlier either.

He doesn't fit the shonen protagonist role but he certainly has a lot of the shonen protagonist personality traits.

Sora's issue isn't really that his character gets simpler as the series goes on.

It's more that he doesn't really get Character Development period. He doesn't really change.

That said, a Static Character isn't necessarily a bad thing. The fact he's refused to let all the crap the KH series has thrown at him really change him is kind of admirable in a way.

Sora may be owned by the American Disney, but he is a very Japanese character and he wouldn't have been the same at all if Disney had created him on its own.

He is for all narrative purposes a Square Enix character who happens to belong to Disney.

Someone pointed out Sora is the only character in existence to have shaken hands with both Super Mario and Mickey Mouse, and I find that endearing.

It's assuming that both Disney and Nomura have about equal say over how Sora is licensed. Both had to sign him out for Smash, but despite Disney being comparably easy to agree to it, the deal almost fell through due to Nomura.

Legally, Disney has complete control over the KH original characters. Nomura is effectively a contractor for this IP.

Real honest here: this feels like one of those situations that should be a Never Live It Down moment for him.

When I was playing Kingdom Hearts 2.5 on PS4, I did this funny thing (well, funny to me anyway) where when the characters entered Timeless River, anytime I read their dialogue balloons aloud I would have something covering my mouth so it'd sound muffled, like the audio in that world. Then once the story was finished and everyone returned to Disney Castle, I uncovered my mouth and spoke clearly, again like the audio for the rest of the game.

So in the past I've put together wish lists for the Disney worlds I'd like to see in IV, but I've generally restricted them to the number of worlds I feel we can reasonably expect to see (i.e. the number we got in III). Today, I thought I'd do something a little different a put together a tier list that I'll use to categorize every Disney property that I both have a reasonably strong desire to see in IV and believe have a good shot of making it in. This is by no means comprehensive—these are just what have occurred to me for the time being.

I was going to give each of the picks a more detailed explanation, but it was taking awhile and then I accidentally lost everything I had typed, so I'll just keep this brief and explain my choices if anyone else has thoughts on them.

So, as follows:

• "Must Have" Tier: The title is a slight misnomer—it's not like I'd boycott the game if these didn't make it in. But they are the ones I would be the most disappointed by if they were excluded, and I'd think that the devs were really missing an opportunity (and in at least one case, I'd feel a bit jerked around).
  • Moana
  • Coco
  • Toy Box
  • Star Wars
• Most Wanted Tier: If I were told to decide which worlds would make it into IV right now , these are the others that would fill out the list. That said, I'm not as attached to them as the ones in the tier above, so I wouldn't be as disappointed if they didn't make it in. In fact, I could be persuaded to replace a couple of these with some from the tier below, but I'm not really sure what I'd sacrifice, so I'll keep these as they are for now.
  • Arendelle
  • Inside Out
  • The Princess and the Frog
  • The Muppets
• Alternate Tier: This is some stuff that while I don't necessarily want them as much as the tiers above, I have heard some very interesting ideas that have convinced me that they both have a shot and would be very worthy inclusions. I'd readily swap one of these with the above tier, though again, I don't know what I'd cut at the moment.
  • Encanto (This is actually one that I really want and would have been in the above tier, but it kind of got squeezed out by some of the others. I kind of envision both these and the Muppets as minigame worlds, so I find myself swapping the two around depending on my mood.)
  • Maleficent
  • Alice in Wonderland (2010)
  • 100 Acre Wood
• "Also Ran" Tier: Well, that's a little unfair. All of these are things I'd be excited to see and think have a decent shot, but there are simply others I'd prefer or think would be more interesting. I'd still be hyped for anything here.
  • WALL•E
  • Zootopia
  • Marvel Universe (Doesn't have to be the MCU necessarily)
  • Kingdom of Corona (or whatever they'd be calling it)
  • Game Central Station

I'll also give honorable mentions to Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon, both of which sound like they could fit well, but I haven't seen them, so I don't think I can fairly judge them right now (granted, I haven't seen Maleficent or the Burton Alice in Wonderland movies either, but the Unreality angle has me elevating them to serious consideration). I'll try to remedy this soon, particularly with Soul.

I also excluded original worlds, but for what it's worth I want to see Scala ad Caelum, Radiant Garden, and Twilight Town again, in that order (also putting in Land of Departure as a distant fourth, as I think while I think it could return to some extent I have no real desire to see it unless they really liven the place up).

I would actually hate it if the adaption furthers the story and canon. That would tell me that the writers and developers actually can't explain their plot in the game alone. A Jigsaw Puzzle Plot can be annoying at times are but doable, but not if the pieces are mixed into other jigsaw puzzle boxes that you need to see in order to hopefully find a piece to the original puzzle.

I could be amenable to an original story, but only if it’d not something that I would have rather played myself.

But I would prefer a relatively straight adaptation of the first game.

I saw but I decided against sharing because I can never tell how reliable these guys are.

If we get a movie, I just hope they’re smart enough to have Farmer and Anselmo back as Goofy and Donald and not some Hollywood celebrity.

Cannot wait to have Seth Rogen and John Mulaney as Goofy and Donald.

Would be pretty fun to adapt the manga. It would eliminate concerns with canon and, dare I say it, has better writing for a lot of characters.

You can't seriously believe it would be a instantly a huge hit simply because lots of people think its a good idea,very often as not the end result wouldn't match the hype
