Why is the video in Japanese, but the book mostly in English? Is this common for Japan?
Optimism is a duty.KH has a lot of Gratuitous English.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The gratuitous English leads to some awkward translation.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.They probably didn't recap 2 or 0.2 because 2's the last main one while 0.2 is the most recent.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.I can imagine. How would you even translate Gratuitous English into English?
Optimism is a duty.Turn it into gratuitous Japanese.
For example, Yugioh translated some cards that were English in the Japanese version into Japanese in the English version. "Cyclops" became "Hitotsu-me Giant", "Fireball" became "Hinotama", and such.
I have a message from another time...I recently read this article that talks about how games without any English at all feel very weird to Japanese audiences.
x4 It depends on what the Gratuitous English is for. If it's meant to make something seem foreign, you can make it another language in the translation.
But what if it is meant to be meaningful to the plot, but is just worded clunkily? Do you correct the grammar?
Optimism is a duty.In most cases, I would say so, and most localizations do this anyways.
I wonder how much info Localization Teams are able to get about the game. Because, well, if their localization drops one line or two that are really important later on, that could create problems over all.
Like, ok, we discussed ages ago about how Mickey is the voice in the first Kingdom Hearts' opening, right? Its not really super important and it doesn't really hurt us at all that the information wasn't conveyed to us.
But what if that ended up being one of the biggest plot things in the series. Like, the most important of important things. And this also didn't get revealed until KH 2. That's got to be 'yikes' for a localization team.
Strict ND As, and only hire trusted translation companies, I imagine.
And I think those translation companies are pretty strict about it, too. No one wants to lose a major client because of a leak.
Optimism is a duty.Is it ever explained why Radiant Garden had such a special Keyhole?
Secret SignatureFrom what I remember, the final keyhole wasn't natural.
No but being the world where Ansem began his experiments with heart and eventually summoned the heartless means makes it a very important world,it's near the final level so the size of it's keyhole indicates it's significance
New theme music also a boxI mean
shouldn't that make it a destroyed world too?
Secret SignatureMaybe the heartless were smart enough not to destroy their foothold into the world of light.
More likely they hadn't got around to destroying it yet,the final level is their foothold in the realm of light not Hollow Bastion
New theme music also a boxNew Famitsu Interview from Nomura:
All worlds will have a minigame of sorts, Twilight Town will have a minigame featuring Remy from Ratatouille where you collect ingredients from various worlds and cook dishes. Tangled features a rhythm game world.
The Classic Kingdom minigames were planned by Nomura he plans to add more of them if possible.
The Pirates World is based on the third film, "At Worlds End" - The box Jack seeks is the very same box that the True Organization XIII and Maleficent are seeking.
Kingdom Hearts III will feature a Secret Movie as expected but it is not yet completed.
Vanitas has indeed been resurrected. The other returning Organization members have returned as either Nobodies or Real People. The ones helping Sora being the real people.
Nomura expresses it was challenging creating the scenario with Aqua given the situation and all of the other problems the game aims to resolve in the story.
DLC in Kingdom Hearts III has not been decided on but they'd like to focus on expanding the game and not just sell items. Nomura thinks it'll be a single distribution of DLC and not a Season Pass as he doesn't like that model.
There are no plans for a public demo, but fans will be able to play the game early at Tokyo Game Show.
There are no plans for a Final Mix version of the game, if there is one it'll be instated through updates and DLC rather than a full-priced re-release.
The "New Seven Hearts" mentioned by Larxene in the recent trailer are an entirely new generation of the Seven Princesses, save for Kairi. These princesses (so far) are Elsa, Rapunzel, ect.
There will not be Dual Audio for Kingdom Hearts III due to there being separate animations/lip sync data.
Nomura expressed capacity issues with the game on disc as well, likely going for less pre-rendered scenes to cut down on space.
Nomura feels that a game can be fun even if you're just running around. Time-limited strategies can be crafted with the Situation Commands. There are specific prerequisites and areas where you can use Attraction Flow (The Disney Ride summons)
This time around, you can also fight along with Disney Characters you Link (Summon) with. ie. Battling alongside Ariel when you summon her. The links we have in Kingdom Hearts III so far include: Ariel, Wreck it Ralph, Meow Wow, and Simba.
-There are new additions that apply to Keyblades that cannot transform as well, such as the Kingdom Key.
-The scene in which Aqua appears is during a time where Riku and the King are in a serious situation. Due to Aqua's problems, as well as all of the other characters problems being resolved in this game, it was challenging writing the scenario.
-The story in the "Frozen" world plays out in the same chronological order as the movie does.
-The stories from the first two Pirates of the Caribbean movies will be outlined in KH 3, as it is based on "At World's End"
-This time around, you can also intervene when linking with Disney characters in battle.
-You will be able to link with Meow Wow, and while it should be impossible, Nomura states that using that "Link" will bring out a ton of Dream Eaters.
-The characters returning in KH 3 return as either: their actual selves, Nobodies or "in other types of ways" (Oh geez)

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."So the most interesting story thing out of that is that Vanitas isn't time-traveling. He's been resurrected.
Also Luxord, Marluxia, Larxene, Saix and Xigbar have been forcibly/voluntarily been turned back into Nobodies.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Xehanort taking their hearts out again sounds like it would be a good way to keep these disobedient jerks in line.
If we don't get Luxord and Larxene's real names cause of this I will riot.
Them staying nobodies makes sense since being a Nort involves being implanted with a Nort heart which you can't do if they already have a heart.
Plus that was their original intended purpose in the first place.
