Something about Wonderland that has always mystified me: Why is the level's design in the game so dang claustrophobic? As in, the world is presented as a series of square rooms that literally have the tangiable sky and backgrounds painted onto them, Truman Show-style. Kind of like cheap, indoor movie-sets. As far as I can tell, this has no basis in the movie Alice in Wonderland, so why did they design the level this way?
Probably because of the gimmick of turning the same room on its different sides for half of the level's rooms.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.I figured it was a way to visually tell the player that Wonderland was messed up.
I guess its also simply more notable, now that we are used to so much better. Its not just that the quality was lower, now the perception of that quality has also lowered.
Optimism is a duty.I died six times to Wakka so I might have made a terrible mistake.
Wakka was always the most deadly character.
He has a blitzball that turns enemies into stone.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I'm gonna see how well I do on Darkside before I ragequit and play something else.
I've done three Critical playthroughs of KHII so you'd think I could handle KHI.
Darkside should be a breeze, just run around till he slams his fist into the ground, then hammer his fist as it gets stuck, some shadows will pop up sometimes but thats about it.
He is a total pushover.
Optimism is a duty.I died to Darkside so I am officially too much of a scrub to do Proud Mode.
should have gone with shield, don;t you believe protection is important?
New theme music also a boxStaff or bust!
how will you protect
New theme music also a boxwith thundagas
More seriously Shield has the most boring skill loadout so I'm basically just stuck hitting things with basic attacks until level 60.
Staff is best if you're going to level 99.
If level 99 is a thing you plan on getting to eventually, reset and pick staff.
I always pick sword and give up staff.
Purely for no other reason than to spite people who say I should pick staff.
Yes, that is very dumb.
This song needs more love.Well Donald uses a staff, and he's useless. Giving up the staff should make Sora better.
Obviously.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I always end up picking shield because I am and always will be a defense nut.

Somebody once told me the world was macaroni, I took a bite out of a treeyou a wise
New theme music also a boxThe Mad Hatter IS in there... as a drawing.
I just imagine they've been turned into a cartoon drawing. That would be ironic.

Optimism is a duty.I pick sword because we have a shield-user with Goofy and a(n incompetent) mage with Donald. I usually play on Normal so I don't really have much trouble.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.I wish Donald was a better mage in the sense that him having only the spells Sora does never makes sense considering he uses thunder on Goofy in a cutscene but he doesn't learn it in gameplay until you do in Olympus.
What I think would be better is if Donald in KHI always had spells one tier above Sora.
In terms of not healing though, I actually kinda like it? Its in-character for Donald to just be so focused on making things die in a fit of rage that he doesn't notice or care about anything else.
For that reason I'm also glad one of the first abilities he has in KHI is Berserk.
It feels like there's a sort of paradox to Goofy and Donald the first game where we're meant to think that they'd be better at each other's jobs. Goofy's a knight, but he hates violence and weapons so he uses a shield.
And, I mean. Mages are supposed to be smart, and in Kingdom Hearts Goofy's the smart one. He's still clumsy though, so that's a disadvantage for a physical fighter.

Donald was a decent healer in KH 1. but KH 2's MP system just plain screwed him over as did reducing his spells to Fire, Ice, Lightning.

His lack of versatility isnt great either.
Speaking of which, they couldn't put the Mad Hatter in? I was assuming that he was just as popular as, if not more than, the Queen of Hearts.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.
