Oh my god unnoun is here.
It's been like. Forever. You've missed so many memes.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Been busy. Been lurking.
You've seen the Just a Pancake stuff at least, right? That's like required viewing now.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I glanced at it.
It seems pretty shit.
how dare
So, basically, the only characters that die in this series are the ones that were never really born to begin with?
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Nah, the Nobodies then get reformed. Vanitas goes back to Ventus where he belongs. Roxas and Xion technically belong with Sora but they're getting revived in KHII, probably.
So far Repliku is the only confirmed death in the series.

I'm fine with him being dead but time traveling.
I give even odds for Repliku being a Xehanort.
This song needs more love.Presumably the same way that lets Ansem SOD, Xemnas and Xehanort all coexist at the same time.
Speaking of, why did Oldnort revive at the end of DDD? It should have been Terranort; that's who actually split off.
Odds are we will see them both around in III and get no real explanation.
My running theory is that he showed up as the old coot because you have to leave your body behind to time travel. So if Terranort time traveled, his appearance would be tied to his heart, not his body. And Master Xehanort (who is now presumably in full control, with Terra buried deep down) is still that old coot at heart.

I have a message from another time...Then how did Xemnas (who is only a body) and Isa time travel?
Well, the whole point of the Organortzation is that each member has a growing fragment of Xehanort's heart in them. So, that's probably how.
Either that, or Young Xehanort cheated and was able to bodily carry them through the time-stream because he was time traveling to begin with. But nothing in the game really makes that claim, so I'm going with the former idea.
I have a message from another time...Yes, and all of these characters are almost certainly going to be brought back in the next game. The game has even made Sora's quest to bring back Roxas a selling point in some of the trailers. How is that not completely hollow?
(I mean, I'll forgive Aqua, Ven and Terra since they never really "died" and their fates were clearly never meant to be permanent. By contrast, Roxas and Xion were pretty transparently not meant to be brought back until their popularity demanded it.)

There is zero precedence and no reason to believe that they will outside of some vague statements in Re:Coded. No major death in this series so far has been undone besides Lea/Axel, and that was a plot point because all the nobodies were brought back besides Xion and Roxas because they were made a part of Sora.
Eraqus is another example of a character who died and remained dead too, and there has been absolutely no reason to believe he's coming back. Strelitzia too, though admittedly we're too early in KHUX's ballgame to really tell.
I mean, I get where you're coming from but I just don't agree.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThe difference is Eraqus isn't super popular.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"That wasn't my main point but ok
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeSaying that there’s little reason to think that Rodas and Xion will be brought back seems silly, considering that the trailer for III specifically mentions that Sora wants to bring Roxas. Like it or not, (and I would like them both to come back, personally), their return is on the table.
I’m also confused by the implications that the re:coded scene means little, when it seems pretty clear to me to be a declaration of intent going forward.
Oh God! Natural light!Even Eraqus's return is a distinct possibility given the implications that his heart took refuge inside Terra. I wouldn't guarantee it since Eraqus isn't a character with a huge fanbase, but the possibility is definitely there.
I mean, with a sufficiently wide definition of "brought back" I'd say he's guaranteed to be brought back.
Not necessarily all the way to normal alive status (though that's possible), but definitely gonna have active impact on the plot.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I'm just saying that, so far, only a very small handful of characters have actually come back to life in the series.
What may happen in III is a different story, but nobody has died and come back to life except for the organization members. That's why I don't agree that Death Is Cheap in Kingdom Hearts.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeWell, Oogie Boogie. But he died again.
And Maleficent. Seems it's hard to truly kill The Fair Folk.
I have a message from another time...
When you have Hades and Joshua and other Gods of Death and/or the Dead around, does death even matter? And by how much?
...Also, like. Time travel.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
