I'm learning so much about dating apps. Especially as I keep forgetting which one is Tinder and which one is Grinder because similar names confuse me.

Most English words that have a similar meaning and common sibilants are derived from the same word in either Latin or Greek. One notable exception is that "homo" means "man" in Latin and "same" in Greek and we use both meanings.

Oh rats my first instincts were right, well not quite because I almost spelt Tinder as Tindr I just assumed I was confusing them with Tumblr's weird spelling. Yeah I know Tinder is the straight version most of the time but I forget sometimes. And am like why would you be looking up women on Tinder, oh right straight version. Does Tinder have same gender options, or do bi people have to be very multi-purpose on their dating apps, or just do OK Cupid. I can't imagine Tinder not having same gender options I mean Christian Mingle had to give them.

It does, yes. You can set what you're looking for from your profile. It's "the straight Grindr" not because it's an exclusively heterosexual dating app, but because Grindr is exclusively gay men, and was around for a long time before anyone figured out a way to make a similar app for straight people that women felt safe using.
