She's an alcoholic prodigy, but I doubt she's get the pun since she doesn't really drink or spend time around people doing the same. And So Co isn't the most common liquor in the world. She'd prolly just assume "southern comfort" is a colloquialism for "drinking for solace."

It's a mass-market liqueur that's clearly advertised with a budget to match. It's been marketed internationally since at least 1900. Most people I know in Britain would get the reference — even the teetotalers.

I think it's been mentioned in the comic. I know I've heard of it before as a teetotaller in Australia.

I think most people in Finland would get it, too.

I inherited a bottle of Southern Comfort in a move once (moved from a five-man house to a two-man apartment, and the guy with the wet bar left us some of his stuff), I tried putting powdered lemonade mix in it and curiously got a substance that tasted like artificial banana flavor (which is to say, nothing like bananas at all).

So Co is nasty, at least from my experience.
