He said "non-human mammals", which would cover any aliens that fit the definition of "mammal", hence the joke about the common sci-fi behavior.
Given his well-wishes to the couple, it looks to me that this is him speaking only for the literal letter of the law - that this is specific thing that the law condemns.
True enough. I'm not sure how seriously Freefall takes biological compatibility, but it seems to do other things accurately, so the Green-Skinned Space Babe concept ought to be right out.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Given how new Bowman's wolves are (as I recall, it's been less than a decade since the first one hit the age of majority), as well as just how few there are, I can reasonably see that the law has lagged regarding possible relationships between a Bowman's wolf and a human... particularly since this is terra incognito so far as the law is concerned.
I mean, to answer Winston's question in the last paragraph, there always has to be a first one somewhere.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Given that Mark has kept the comic PG so far, I find it dubious that we'd follow up Kornada's trial for embezzlement with a sex crimes trial for Winston.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"No. But I could see picketing and/or harrassment.
Sooner or later he will have to answer the question: Will they or wont they?
I think there’s a global conspiracy to see who can get the most clicks on the worst liesOh, deity, are we actually going to have a Meet The Parents subplot? That could actually be rather funny.
... why do we not have Meet The Parents as an actual trope? To Trope Launch Pad?

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think the closest we currently have is Twerp Sweating.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."That would be a subtrope. Meet The Parents would include a wider variety of drama/hilarity. I'm for it!
To avoid conflicts, it would have to go in as Meet The Parents Plot. I really don't have time to shepherd a TLP proposal... sadly.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Looks like somebody had previously chosen a different name distinguination for it - Meet the In-Laws.
And Meeting-the-Parents Sequel, which is not thriving at all.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Word of God did confirm that meet-the-parents was going to be the next story.
It's been quite a while in meta-time (yet only a few days in-verse) since we were last in space...
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Well Florence probably has enough claim on the robots to that she can afford to get the Savage Chicken fully repaired (right now they're only qualified for orbital flight).
The advice◊ Winston's father gave him...
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Oh, irony. Lovely, lovely irony.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Why not both?
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!
So... uh... I now have to wonder if Winston's parents are separated/divorced.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Winston talks about them like they live together.
True, but in my experience, those aren't the words of someone happily married.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. They might be unhappily married.
Or possibly simply a grumpy person. I know people who are quite content with their marriage, but feel obliged to gripe and complain. Men, especially, face social pressure to rail against the "ball and chain".
Ah, yes. The traditional "Get married and then pretend you were forced into it or something."
Of course, back in the day there might have been a lot people who actually felt that way and were pressured into finding a spouse they didn't really want. That's how it started, I bet.
I don't think it's that, but that Florence may be classified by certain legal definitions as an animal, and humans bonking animals is considered bestiality and could get Winston tossed in the slammer regardless of her status as a sapient with individual rights. The law can be really dumb like that.
