Which makes the idea that he somehow gets himself trapped in a chest and beaten without too much trouble a little hard for me to believe.
Welcome to th:|Shinryu Verus is actually Neo-Shinryu, after accidentally splitting himself with timeline shenanigans.

I have a message from another time...I think chest-Shinryu is basically the burnt-out husk that was left after the combined forces of Cosmos and Chaos defeated it and broke the cycle in the 3rd Dissidia.
...Ah, the Shinryu discussion again, I see. Brings back memories, eh, Enlong?
Pulse, I know Princess Sarah is playable in Theatrhythm, but what exactly would she do?
White Mage-y stuff? I figure that there's a lot of wiggle room with the NES era characters, as evidenced by the six currently in the games.
I sure said that! She could be like to Garland what Terra was to Kefka.
Troper PageIndeed it does.
And I dunno. Cast Aero? Wait. Wrong Princess Sarah.
I have a message from another time...Sorry for bringing such an old thread back, but I had a question: Do any of the DLC music packs have any remixes, cause I don't really wanna pay for just original music.
Also, what's a good assist for Warrior? Cause i'm just not feeling any synergy with anyone.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!I don't think any are remixes, no.
If all else fails, Kuja Assist. Summon him when you wall-rush an enemy for an easy Assist Chase.
I have a message from another time...So...that thing about Shinryu. Was that an actual battle in the game orrrr...? What's going on with that?
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850Which thing about Shinryu?
I have a message from another time...Shinryu is only ever used as (Feral) Chaos' summonstone.
He and Cid of the Lufaine are responsible for the whole Cycle of battle thing.
I'd say there's only three really good Assists- Kuja, for characters who like to Assist Chase, Jecht, for characters that don't, and Aerith, for her more unique functions.

I sure said that!Well, since this topic isn't dead anymore, I guess I might as well post this article here and maybe generate some discussion.
So it sounds like there's definitely going to be another Dissidia at some point, although it would be pretty far off considering it evidently hasn't even started development yet. I wonder what the Dissidia team's been doing these past three years anyway...
At any rate, how about some questions about what you'd want for the next Dissidia?
- What would be your six most wanted playable characters? (Or less if there are only a few you care about)
- How do you think the story should be handled? A completely new setting? An earlier cycle? Or something else?
- Are there any particular additions or changes to the gameplay you'd like?
- What system(s) would you want it for?

Welcome to th:|I think the Vita and the 3DS both seem like good systems for a third Dissidia- The size of the battle arenas makes non-splitscreen play a poor idea.
I think the plot should be new, but perhaps have Cid of the Lufaine and Cosmos once again involved.
Maybe Shinryu or Omega go on the offensive and start endangering the multiverse?
I sure said that!- Character wise I think XIV is in dire need of a character. Whether they use the Midlander or an NPC for the hero is another debate entirely, villains are easier but still have to choose between Lahabrea and Gaius. Otherwise I think it would be nice if they would add villains for XI, XII and XIII. Probably Eald'narche (And probably his brother Kam'lanaut), Vayne and Barthandelus but I guess there could be a debate for Caius or Bhunivelze. Sequel, Tactics, Crystal Chronicles and other Spin-Off representation would probably be the next step but I'm not sure if they will do that before adding more main series characters.
- For the Setting I'm sure they can keep with the basic idea of Cosmos and Chaos but I'm not really to concerned about this at all.
- Gameplay I would like to see a tag system and a revamp of assists so that you don't build assist when attacks fail to land. Otherwise I'd like some polishing like buffs for Laguna and some new Bravery Attacks for Onion Knight and Shantotto.
- 3DS would be preferred for me because its just got more people then the Vita and would have much less development time needed because it could to an extent allow them to reuse assets from the PSP games.
Princess Sarah would probably be a Quirky Bard since she has a Lute in and Magic Music attacks in Theatrhythym and Brigade.

If you want to Assist Chase, and don't want to use Kuja (or if you are Kuja), Sephiroth's another good Assist Chaser.
Don't know who to use for rushing in place of Jecht if you're using Jecht, though.
I have a message from another time...Cloud, I guess.
Sephiroth and Cloud are pale imitations of Kuja and Jecht, but they can work.
I suppose Bartz deserves some mention for being the only upward Wall Rushing Assist.
I sure said that!Jecht can rush upwards if summoned on the ground. Buuuut unless you're, like, on the Phantom Train or something, that's not gonna work too well.
I have a message from another time...That's a diagonal upwards, not straight up like Slide Shooter.
... Y'know, if they keep the Mime gimmick for Bartz, I hope he has a setup like Prishe and can mix and match Bravery chains.

I sure said that!Point taken.
A future game needs a Blue Mage who does for Chaos characters what Bartz does for Cosmos characters.

I have a message from another time...Maybe if they add Faris or Lenna they will be a Blue Mage?
@lycropath: Yeah, they used NPC's for the heroes of XI so I imagine they'd probably do the same with XIV. They're using Y'shtola as the main XIV representative in Theatrhythm, so maybe her?
I guess I'll put my own answers to the questions while I'm here.
- For characters, I'd go with Maria, Xande, Edgar, Beatrix, Lady Lilith or Shadow Lord, and Lahabrea or Nael van Darnus.
- I'd prefer the story to be set in an alternate universe, with no story relation to the other ones. I never cared for the story of the previous Dissidias, and since they've wrapped up in such a way to limit any prequels or sequels without seeming a bit contrived, I'd rather just start fresh while keeping the gameplay. However, whatever they do won't bother me too much, as long as they make another one.
- As for gameplay, yeah, a tag system for assists does seem like an obvious next step. I'd like to be able to fit more in the text boxes in the quest maker and be able to rewind in the video editor...that's all I can think of.
- I'd like it to be for the 3DS or Wii U mainly because those would not require me to buy a new system, but realistically it'll probably end up being for the PS 4 or Vita. I suppose I'd lean toward a handheld just for the convenience of being able to play it anywhere, but seeing one on a home console could be pretty cool too.

Welcome to th:|Eald'narche or Nag'molada seem like decent choices, based on my very limited knowledge of FFXI.
I really would like to see Ashe and/or Vayne, too.
I sure said that!
No, he trapped Cid in a "nightmare realm". An alternate universe where the heroes failed to kill Chaos in the 13th cycle. He also went there himself, to leech more power from Chaos.
In other words, not only is Shinryu a total dick, but he cheats.
