Here's a couple of videos I found recently going in-depth about a couple of standout weapons in the DMC franchise. They're really comprehensive while remaining accessible, I really recommend a watch:
Here's a T-Rex using Rainstorm I guess
While I'm not gonna hold my breath yet... There appears to be some recent updates or "hints" regarding the upcoming DMC Netflix adaptation.
So, based on Ebony & Ivory's models looking like their reboot versions and Netflix's own history with the Castlevania franchise, we may get something like a mixture of the classic and reboot games.
Netflix's DROP-01 livestream is running and yeah, they revealed Adi Shankar's Devil May Cry anime! Coming soon and animated by Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender's Studio MIR!

Not much, but it's something which is more than previous statements of Adi Shankar saying that he is making a Devil May Cry animation.
For real though, it felt a bit weird to me to see Dante without stubble probably because he's been doing that since 4.
People were worried it was going to be the reboot that shall not be named because of the shape of Ebony & Ivory in some teaser stuff. Thank god that wasn't the case.
I'm here, I guess. If the series follows chronological order, I imagine that the first Big Bad will be Arkham.
His outfit certainly seems to not match any previous incarnations, so I've got no idea if they'll be doing a series-plot adaptation.
Of course, they could easily do that while designing him to look entirely different so whatever, I have no idea.
About time...
BTW, is Devil May Cry the official title of Adi Shankar's adaptation now, judging from the annoucement video? Or will it have a subtitle?
I'm interested to know if this adaptation will bring another Newbie Boom to the Devil May Cry franchise as a whole... or if it will attract people who are interested only in this specific show, but not the games.
If anything, this will bring in a lot of Troper Critical Mass of editors looking at the DMC pages on this wiki for reference. As someone who still actively edits the DMC pages on this wiki a lot, it will be nice if we have more editors updating the pages.
One thing to watch out for is information on just how canon this show is to the games... IIRC in the past, Adi himself has stated that his show will take place in a "Bootleg Multiverse".
Worse case is that people may be mixing up lore/trope examples for the classic continuity DMC titles with new lore/tropes that apply only to this Netflix show.

With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationIt looks like his DMC 3 outfit but with a shirt.
So you're guessing Dante after DMC3, presumed to be after Lady told him constantly not wearing a shirt was ridiculous (which was coming from a woman that dressed like a high school girl if the skirt was ammo pouches)?
I'll have you know I had to rewatch a whole "All Lady scenes in DMC 3" video because of you because I was convinced I had forgotten a scene of Lady roasting Dante's fashion sense.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).to be fair Dante didn't really get time to dress for the event.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I mean, I would think of that as in character. She doesn't hold back on what a goddamn mess Dante is in other ways too.
A short Behind-the-scenes with Adi Shankar regarding the upcoming DMC anime, from the Netflix Geeked Week 2023.
While it's not yet obviously a full trailer, there are Freeze-Frame Bonus moments from the additional scenes wherein Dante is with other characters, one of which has been assumed by viewers as Lady.
From the full livestream, Mundus was also mentioned when a host was reading some synopsis.
With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationYo, are there still any active Devil May Cry editors on this wiki?
It's kinda sad that this thread became very much inactive compared to before; it really seems like Troper Critical Mass lives and dies depending on the hype of a work. One reason why I ask this is because there's still a lot of things to fix or improve in the DMC pages here in TV Tropes, and I would've wanted to suggest a restructuring of the character pages in the future for example, amongst other things that can be done to make troping of the franchise easier. I think a fandom-specific thread like this would be the ideal first place to ask fellow fans' help with such massive "projects".
Apart from that, Casey Edwards made an official upload of "Fire Inside", a theme song (sung by Victor Borba) made specifically for the upcoming Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat Gacha Game. Whether you anticipate that spin-off game or not, the two have made another banger song.

With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationAnyway, triple-post by me, but I just recently-created a TV Tropes page for said upcoming game - Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat.
Now there's still a lot to uncover or info to dig up, especially since AFAIK, the devs once uploaded a page-worth of infodump or Word of God answering a lot of fans' questions regarding the game. Back in the day, you'd be surprised at how much people wanted to know if the game is "canon" or not. IIRC, this was also a DMC game that was brought up in the "power levels" debates that happened relatively recently (like a year or two ago) within some parts of the fandom. Of course, it's also understandable that not every DMC fan will care about this spin-off at all.
Yeah, this is a Gacha Game, so a word of warning for those who do not like that kind of monetization model (for those who do not know, gacha games are like gambling where you gamble for things that are essential to playing the game, like the playable characters and/or equipment). But even as a gacha game addict myself, I don't think I'll play this on day one just yet. Worse case scenario, I may not likely play Peak of Combat at all depending on either my diminishing free time, or because I have other gacha games to look forward to.
And yeah, some sources say this game was teased back in 2017 and had its beta tests since 2019. It will be released next week on January 10, 2024. With that huge gap though, I'm not yet sure if it went through Development Hell.
Another controversial thing online though, is that the game reportedly went through significant gameplay changes during its beta tests, with online users wanting the devs to bring back the old combat system.
With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationYeahhh, a lot of the more hardcore fans I know or follow were quite disappointed by POC's changes. Seems like it's earning the gacha (derogatory) appeliation.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Stuff I sure didn't hear
Look who is the Voice for the english version DMC's Mobile game
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Congratulations to Suzi Hunter aka Sphere Hunter.
Does anyone think Trish Stratus may have been an inspiration for DMC's Trish?

This may just be tangentially related to Devil May Cry, but...
Casey Edwards, the composer who gave us "Devil Trigger" and "Bury the Light", also made "Exohuman" for another Capcom game, Exoprimal.
