^ What might be funny is they're trying to bowlderize one of the racy number and totally failing at it. As for Kurt doing "Grace Kelly", one thumbs up from me.
Trump delenda estWatching them attempt to Bowlderize "La Vie Boeheme" would be hilarious, especially with the new right-wing character coming in.
Something that irks me about the show is that the original approved list from Figgins was "all Jesus and balloons". Um, isn't Mc Kinley a PUBLIC SCHOOL?
I think they slowly gained approval to have more freedom with their song selections, as long as they don't go to far. Perhaps the criteria was altered so there's now only certain song content they can't perform and certain words they can't use?
I think Will just sort of ignored it and Figgins never pursued the issue.
(Incidentally, I was imagining a karaoke night or something for the "For Your Entertainment" number.)
I've had this itching thought in my brain of Kurt singing "Grace Kelly" by Mika... any thoughts?
YES. I would be OVERJOYED to see some Mika numbers. The man is sorely un-loved in the US. And Kurt is the only male on the show who could sing that high anyway. Plus, it would fit him perfectly.
Personally I'd like to see an episode with The Beatles music. I can just picture Finn singing "Hey Jude", Shuester singing "Revolution" (directed at either Sue or Terri), and maybe Rachel singing "Let It Be".
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Beatles music would be EPIC. I totally want either "I Am the Walrus", "Dear Prudence", "I Want to Hold Your Hand" or "All You Need is Love".
Oh no, everyone sings "Let It Be." Come to that, Rachel is actually the least likely after Puck to sing that, since her Judaism might not mesh well with lines like "Mother Mary comes to me." Maybe they could adapt the lines first to avoid offending them/viewers/Puck's mom? Because now I do want to see them all sing that.
Oh yeah, Puck's strident judaism consisting of watching Schindlers List on Yom Kippur while eating chinese sweet and sour pork. Yes, occasionally he will mention being jewish more which means that he is more strident than Two Dads Rachel who is about as apt for Israeli citizenship as Dr. Zoidberg.
Y'know, just cause they don't announce it every second doesn't mean they don't believe, or that they'd be comfortable singing a Christian song. Puck probably only mentions it occasionally because religion only comes up occasionally in casual conversation (with the exception of the odd look-at-me-I'm-virtuous type).
And P.S.: It is possible to be gay or pro-gay and still religious, you know.
I thought the Beatles claimed that "Mother Mary" was actually a reference to Paul's mother or something, not a Christian line.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!*headtilt* Hm, then. Odd phrasing on their parts, in that case.
Also, looking through the old posts made me remember a question I had - how come everyone thinks that, in "Ballad", Kurt was deliberately trying to cause trouble for Finn and Quinn? I just saw that episode and read it as Kurt genuinely trying to help but making the wrong call. Thoughts?
New idea: U2 themed episode.
And P.S.: It is possible to be gay or pro-gay and still religious, you know.
Yep. I happen to be Lutheran and I strongly believe gay couples should be allowed to marry. The main theme if the bible is that we're all equal in God's eyes, after all. Plus, sexuality is no more of a choice than the color of your skin.
Also, yes to the U2 episode. That would be awesome!
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.@Thinks Too Much: Well, his voice over does say he wants to lure Finn away from women but if you're referring to his advising finn to break the news in song, I agree he was trying, not so much to hurt Quinn as just ingratiate himself to Finn and it just went wrong.
Oh, and at some point they need to sing "We Are The Champions" with Kurt (or possibly Artie) in the Freddie role. Maybe they could battle for it.

Trump delenda est@tricksterson I think the voiceover was one of the scenes I fast-forwarded to avoid throwing things at the screen (I love Kurt, but... oh, honey. Come here and let me give you a big hug and a smack upside the head.) And yeah, I was talking about the "You're Having My Baby" thing.
Let me just say this. I hate this freaking show.
Why? I don't like their covers. I don't like their characters. I don't like the writing. I don't like the stereotypes. I hate everything about this show. Just about.
Now that they will certainly open fire on conservatives like myself in Season Two, I've got three words to say... fuck you, Glee.
I know that everybody is in love with this show, but I think it's wretched.
EDIT: I'm not trying to start a flame war here. I'm expressing my opinion, like others on this board have. Yeesh, freaking fangirls and fanboys...

And you came to the forum, where the show's fans are, to make your point? Are you trying to cause a flame war or something?
Quit b!tching about it. I'ma Conservative and Glee is my favorite show. If you don't like it, you don't have to go on the forum to talk about it.
"Just because you like show-tunes it doesn't mean you're gay, it just means you really suck." - Sue SylvesterGood god, will you people get avatars?
My latest liveblog.I don't know where to get them. Anyway, am I the only person psyched about Carol Burnett being Sue Sylvester's mother?
"Just because you like show-tunes it doesn't mean you're gay, it just means you really suck." - Sue SylvesterI keep imagining Sue singing "Animal I Have Become".
I'm also hoping for a Rent number. I'm guessing they wouldn't be allowed in-universe to do some because of content, but there are plenty they could do. Fingers crossed!
