There's also the fact House wants to rule VEGAS but not the Mojave.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. As long as Mister House pays me, then he can have it.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I'm starting a new playthrough, going to do something I've never done in the decade and more of owning this game.
Complete a House Playthrough.
The character, Jason Briggs, 41 year old man from Shady Sands. Former Law Enforcement officer until some unfortunate business got him "retired", restlessness put him on the track to the Mojave Express.
I built Briggs as a sort of character who would more side with House, compared to my last Courier who would side with the NCR or Independent ending depending on how he felt.
For anyone starting out, something I want to mention is that the Securitrons don't take 2,000 caps from you when you enter, so if you have that amount or more, you can enter without fear of becoming poor.
It took me two finished games before I realized something that seems obvious.
Or you could find an NCR uniform in Primm, put that on, and just wander in through the metro whenever you feel like. Or have 80 science. Or get a cheaper pass from that shopkeeper in Freeside. Or just sprint through to the Metro and tank the shots anyway, whereupon the NCR will forget. Or become liked by them so you can use it. Or use one of the many, many glitches in the game to jump and reach the metro from outside so you don't get shot.
Avatar SourceThe thing about crossing wearing an NCR uniform, I wore it in my second game.
Anyway, if you have high luck, you just have to go to Atomic, and in a few minutes you'll already have 5,000 caps.
On the other hand, if there is no rush, you can complete the missions of the Kings.}
The only method I haven't used is science, basically because I don't like the idea of raising science that high at this point.
My point was that you can walk through the front door without fear of losing your 2,000 caps.
A bit off-topic, but speaking of the Kings, a dialogue that I imagine in the Wild Card ending.
- Cassie arrives where the kings.
- The King: Hello beautiful, what brings you here?
- Cass: I come on behalf of the new ruler of New Vegas, so that you sign an authorization to let the Securitrons patrol Freeside, and that way anarchy does not reign, the twins and the followers have already signed.
- The King: I'll sign, under normal circumstances I wouldn't, but after some maniacs massacred the Vangraffs and stole all their belongings, I think the city needs that protection.
- Cass (feigning innocence): Yeah, I wonder who those maniacs were?

I wish there was a response at the Mojave Express if you deliver the Platinum Chip and report back, really lean into the whole courier thing.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Wait, you can't do that? Odd oversight.
Optimism is a duty. The devs didn't think of everything!
(super tempting to make that a trope for a laugh)
New theme music also a boxI guess it’s because Mr. House handles the payment?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult."Courier Seven! You . . . you're alive after being shot in the head! You defeated the Legion with an army of robots! United the other factions of the Mojave! Restored HELIOS and granted power to the entire region! Met Mr. House! Saved Hoover Dam! You did it all with BIG IRON ON YOUR HIP. How can we help you?"
"Job's done. Any new work?"
" . . . Sure, wanna make a hundred caps taking this crate to Bakersfield?"
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Edited by ITNW1989 on Jul 24th 2023 at 1:00:35 AM
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets."Man, that bullet in the head sure was the best thing that could have happened to me!"

Optimism is a duty. You joke, but that's actually the justification Legate Lanius uses for being The Social Darwinist. He cites you becoming a badass after being shot and left for dead as "proof" that putting the whole Mojave through hell will make the survivors better.
- Lanius: Violence gave you that strength, awakened you - I can see it upon your face, where two bullets left their mark.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWow, you're right. Man, this game sure can bring the irony.
Optimism is a duty. Not to mention that you can put intelligence above 7 (Recommended if you want to get at least 14 points per level), so the bullet also turned you into a class of genius.
There's nothing to say it actually changed your SPECIAL stats.
Avatar Source"Look at that. Maybe them bullets done your brain some good."
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Dislodged a minor aneurysm and your brain started getting sufficient oxygen to fully think at max capacity
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youDid you know you only use 10 percent of your brain? Well, seems this bullet fixed that!
Optimism is a duty.That's a myth tho.
We use all our brain, just not all of it at the same time, otherwise we might get a seizure.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I know, it was a joke.
Optimism is a duty.Fair enough.
All this talk about brains reminds me of Old World Blues.
Now THAT was quality DLC.

It's not like Doc Mitchell knew you beforehand.

Making a list, I would classify the endings like this.
"Happy" endings. (or at least, not "downer")
Downer Endings:
