Medicine works better than food for healing. Don't bother with food unless you're playing hardcore mode or unless it's sunset sarsaparilla. That shit is divine nectar from heaven

Replace Barter with Speech, and that's what I would be saying.

Barter is a good option I'd say, even on Hardcore Mode.

I use speech too. I hoard magazines XD

Barter is so amaze though. Every time i get attacked by assassins i get about 4000 caps wealthier. Who knew being on hitlists could make you so wealthy?

Eh, I really didn't do that much trading. Kept saving up money. My points were always spent in Repair, Speech or Lockpicking.

And Science, for OWB.

Basically, almost any skill can become a Dump Stat depending on play style.

You don't use an AM Rifle against a whole squad of Assassins, unless your AP regen can handle VATS-ing the entire group before they converge on you. There's a reason why those things are long ranged. If you're dealing with a group, go with an SMG or an LMG or the Riot Shotgun; those things can belt out massive amounts of DPS in a short amount of time, especially the 12.7mm SMG. 36 damage per shot and 324 DPS? That thing melts assassins, even Elite Veterans in Centurion Armor, down to nothing in no time flat.

I have 100stealth. It's the first skill I ever maxed out. 'Only their scout can even actually find me, and usually i see him on radar first. At the range they're at when I open fire, most automatic weapons won't even hit.

Especially for me, who keeps sneaking every few steps to see if some giant bug might have seen me.

True. At 100 Sneak it becomes ridiculously easy to just creep around and shoot everyone in the head with Christine's CoS Silencer Rifle. Sometimes it's just as fun to run out in the open and start ripping on enemies with a fully-modded Riot Shotgun and 12.7mm SMG, though.

I don't need barter when I play NV. 10 Luck, lolol. Clean out dem casinos. And then I end up getting more caps than I can spend from loot anyway, even at like, 5 barter.

I use the Barter skill to maximize my revenue stream. If I'm not sitting on a pile of caps that reaches a million, I don't think I'm even playing properly.

Picking Guns as a tag is almost literally mandatory.

Not in New Vegas it isn't. It's entirely possible to go an entire run with a Melee/Unarmed Tag, which is what I've done multiple times.

And yes, you can beat the game without ever firing a single shot or using any weapons.

Mainly because enemies are too stupid to retreat and wither you suppresive fire. Also they're literally unable to detect you half the time. I cleared out cottonwood without being found ONCE

I just started playing this again last night. I've already made it to the strip and beaten the whole Cassidy quest. The nice way, so she gets her hitpoint boost. Swimming in caps, and still using the Varmint Rifle I fully modded in the beginning of the game. It's been pretty awesome so far.

This machine uses 308 rounds, which I'd rather use in the Gobi rifle

Screw that, I'll take This Machine over Gobi any day. PING!

In general, I dislike the vanilla sniper rifle platform.

"This Machine" was a great gun. Almost makes up for how much loading I needed to talk to Sgt. Contreras.

Ratslayer acquired. That took some doing simply because the Van Graffs decided to aggro on me over the whole Cassidy issue. So I grabbed Boone and Eddie, parked Eddie out of danger but in the cell, and Bone and me killed the Van Graff army that came out when I sneak criticaled Simon. Didn't kill the bastard in one shot because I wasn't using AP rounds at the time. Didn't start using those until I one-shotted that bounty hunter the Garret twins sent me after in Vegas. Took his head clean off with AP.
