About that, I also noticed that, trying to figure out who did the "disadvantaged" point (as both Layton and Wright are right-handed, I believe). I think it was to balance both of them out.
Doesn't Phoenix usually do a left-handed one in the games? I thought he'd be the one doing it left-handed when doing it with Layton.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.He switched hands just so he could be Back-to-Back Badasses with Layton.
...To be honest I'm not sure about Phoenix's pointing because Capcom is infamous for its Ambidextrous Sprite uses in these games...
I don't really think that trope really applies to the Ace Attorney series all that much. I can only really remember a handful of instances when sprites could've been flipped, none of which involve Phoenix.

Fee fi fo fum. I smell Kraft Dinner.I still don't get how this is supposed to work. Is there time travel involved or something?
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasAs I recall the game's villian "The Storyteller" summons Layton and Pheonix from their respective universes and places them into a third universe. And Layton CAN be set in modern times (space travel was mentioned in Unwound Future).
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.We don't know the details yet. For now, I think we better just go with it.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Phoenix looks so cuuuute in this game~
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyI gotta say though, in the final scene with Phoenix and Layton dramatically pointing back-to-back, their faces look a bit wooden. Doesn't look like an "OBJECTION!!!!!!" face to me.
Apparently, the "trial style" in this game was designed in such a way that both Layton and Phoenix would get pissed off by it.
This game is trolling its protagonists. Awesome.

I have a message from another time...And Code Geass and most every other nicely done anime that wasn't by Madhouse. And I think it was stated in one of the trailers.

There's a "Mysterious thunderstorm" that transports their plane to this new world on the night that Phoenix and Maya are flying to wherever their next case is taking them.

That would be hilarious.
So I know that the comment Maya made about last seeing Phoenix is GS 3/T&T is probably not going to be in the official game, but has Phoenix not seen Maya since then? If the game is post AJ that makes Phoenix even sadder.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.If you look closely at the box art theres a certain cat thats in there.

Those animation stills look beautiful. I'd love to see an Ace Attorney anime.

I find it odd that Phoenix does a left-handed pointing action in the art, but a right-handed one in-game when doing the double-style with Layton.
