Oh, here's a thing.

In Natsume Yuujinchou, Youkai like Hiiragi can't be seen by most people; only those with strong spiritual power. I thought I'd just handwave this out of the way and say anyone can see her in Extremus, but now that I think about it it might be really interesting if only some of the characters can see her (except on AU day when she'll be humanized, of course). She'll mostly be a background character, anyways. The question of who could actually see her I'd probably leave up to each player to decide, but it'd be nice if there was at least a couple. I'd suspect Kyle and Lucas could; maybe the magic-users in the group, too. Also I feel like she might be visible to V (which would be good because they're both kind of background characters with smiling masks) and Aki, but Mal would have to make that call. And let's say the likes of Trope-tans and Ashur could see her too.

'Course if that's too problematic, I'll just go back to the original plan of everyone being able to see her.

V and Aki don't really have much in the way of any sort of spiritual power, being from universe that are basically our own with the numbers filed off, but V's south enough of sanity that that might not matter. He's still fairly rational-thinking and intelligent when he wants to be, he just seems to have a train of thought that travels sideways. It's entirely possible he might be able to detect her from the sheer force of his eccentricity.

Aki's more debatable, being mundane as far as not even having a soul in the spiritual sense. I suppose it's possible that keeping faith to the Emprah and having had to accept the existence of the ruinous powers might qualify her as spiritual enough to see, but that one's more up to you.

As for making her visible to everyone, that's also more or less up to you to decide. I think the only outcome that'd make us have to hand wave it would be if it turns out the majority of people couldn't see her and you got stuck with only two or three people she could talk to.

Would Kanaya's conversations with Aradia count towards making her spiritually inclined? Because other than that she hasn't really got anything.

Okay, let's go with only some people can see her. Sounds more fun. The borderline people can sense her and maybe see a vague outline/hear her when they concentrate.

My suggestions, but ultimately people can choose:

Can see Hiiragi:

• Kyle
• Lucas
• Certain Pokemon (e.g. Gardevoir)
• Raspberyl?
• Trope-tans
• The Troper
• V (and consequently maybe Vezon)?
• Angela?

Can sense/sorta-maybe see/hear Hiiragi:

• Lina (not so spiritual, but regularly deals with the astral plane)
• Kanaya?
• Aki?
• Certain Pokemon

Can't normally see/hear her

• Everyone else

Also, here's a picture◊ for anyone who wants to know what she looks like.

Even though Oswald has interacted with ghosts fluently in the past, I don't he can see Hiiragi. He can probably see things being manipulated by her (picking up stuff, casting spells, etc), but not see her physical form. Meaning, if Hiiragi is eating a sandwich, he could only see a floating sandwich that's slowly disappearing.

The Mad Doctor could probably see her, because.......well......he's MAD. Kiwi could see her, since she's a magical unicorn pony, and Owl as well.....but only as a sign of him slowly turning feral......

The thing is, only ghouls who are isolated or go insane during the initial process turn feral. It's not like they have a ticking time-bomb of a body clock that makes them turn into mindless not-zombies after middle age; if they did, you wouldn't have perfectly civil ghouls who were alive before the Great War walking around in every game.

Unless you have him wander into a highly irradiated area, I guess. That does seem to play a part.

Naturally, Rogue would be able to see her if she stole the powers of someone who could see her. Otherwise, she wouldn't normally be able to.

Awesome. Though it makes me rather worried about the future, in terms of the structure of the game.

Even with some of the characters leading the Troper's armies, will it be back to what it was before with the group traveling the wasteland after Day 12?

That was awesome, Thunder. The tense change was kind of intriguing, and this is a really great place to leave off and move to the new site. ^_^

@Thunder: I really liked it, though the To Be Continued thing made me wonder what eye-catches this RP would have if it were a show (any kind; western animation, anime, 'video games', what have you).

Also, the Mods post made me visit the badge store for the first time. That was fun.

That's entirely dependent on what you guys decide to have your characters do. The game can go in any number of directions depending on the choices you guys make.
