That's a worthy desire too
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThere is a World of Darkness thread but if I wanted to argue Mage we could do it on SV. But I really don't feel like it right now.
If any of you are newcomers to the World of Darkness though, know that Magechat is a neverending quagmire. Lots of things start flame wars in this fandom but Mage is the undisputed king.
I also want a Mage game but I shudder to think of the gasoline this will pour on those arguments.
That's fair enough.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnIf I want to dig in further in WOD, whivh edition is most begginner friendly?
I'd imagine the reason for both changeling and mage we've never seen a videogame is quantifying spheres/Arcana, or the nature of glamour down to a playable game is waaaaay more complex then Hunter the reckning or vampire
Which is a shame, because I would love to see a video game based off of second edition Changeling: The Lost.
Most people recommend 20th Anniversary Edition of the various series, if available.
Vampire 20 is especially much beloved in my experience. Mage 20 is a bit more ontroversial but that's mostly among long time fans. Newbies are still suggested to start with it.

Ya know, given we will be playing as Thinbloods to start off with, I wonder if we can get away with just completely disregarding Clan archetypes.
I mean, you can do that anyway but I don't like to stray too far beyond what is expected. It feels....cheap. "I'm a Brujah but I'm a power-hungry, hierarchy-loving Brujah." Oh so you're just a Ventrue who calls himself a Brujah.
But here? I can play my Tremere like a Toreador. These two are my favorite Clans for a variety of reasons but the Tremere just have way more fun Disciplines. Toreadors are closer to me personally but since that doesn't really matter here, Blood Mage here I come.
New trailer came out, but it's a bit of a spoiler so watch at your own risk (although the title itself also spoils it).
Didn't think Damsel would be coming back, but happy to see her. Especially since they kept her original VA.
...I find that to be a bit panderific.
I mean, if you're gonna bring back anyone, why not Smillin' Jack and Beckett, who are both characters from the tabletop?
Hell, why not Pisha, who is implied to travel everywhere anyway?
Why would Damsel even be in Seattle? It's on the other side of the country. Yes, the mass conversion is a big deal, but then why not bring back Nines? He'd be interested in a pack of freshly turned vampires with every reason in the world to hate the Camarilla, and he'd offer the sort of calm confidence and assurance that a lot of the new vampires would need.
And last but not least, why are we spoilering stuff from a trailer? If it's part of promotional material, by definition it's not a spoiler.

They're saving t Smillin' Jack for the final boss reveal
New theme music also a boxI normally try not to read YouTube comments, but this one from the trailer made me laugh.
Flashes Back "Gentlemen, Welcome to Dubai."
I don't see how any of your suggestions would be any less "panderific", by definition returning a fan-favorite involves pandering to the people who like them.
This complaint is nonsensical.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThe thing is, both Jack and Beckett are established characters from the source material, and all three (those two 2 plus Pisha) tend to just waltz around everywhere.
[[spoiler Damsel, it just feel like they picked a random character people like and just threw her in the game. And not a particularly interesting one, either.]]
I dunno, I just can't see how that one contributes much to the narrative compared to so many of the other characters they could've brought back. And if they're giving them a trailer, safe to assume they do.
My point is that it isn't intellectually consistent to complain about pandering when in reality you just want them to pander to you.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnDamsel, who isn't a spoiler because it's a trailer, was probably picked because she's a character unique to Bloodlines and not a pre-existing one like Jack or Beckett.
Also, she's many a fan's waifu.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. From what the developers said she’s in Seattle to spread the Anarch cause. Nines is heavily tied to L.A, Smiling Jack if the Beckett Journal is still canon is currently out of the country IIRC and Beckett wouldn’t have an interest in what’s going on with the Plot of the game.
As for Pisha she could be dead by the original P Cs hand.

@Fourtspartan: I object! Because it is devastating to my case!
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -Hylarn
Pandering but that's fine, as for once I'm being pandered to.
Makes me wonder if they'll mention what happened in Bloodlines. Maybe avoid specifics, to not overrule players' personal stories?
I'd rather they keep the stories as disconnected as possible, because Bloodlines doesn't have any loose threads worth following up on and each of those plots can work perfectly well by themselves, no need to force continuity.
It is partly why I argue for the inclusion of Jack and Beckett (besides being personally pandered to, there you have it, Spartan): because they're already big figures from the lore, their inclusion doesn't imply the plots being connected in any way, like say, the way Half-Life's one and two were.
Which I suppose Damsel's presence doesn't necessarily imply they are gonna do that, she's relevant for what, one (hilarious) sidequest and some banter?
And for being a "candy heart with fuck you written on it".'
But yeah, there's not much they could really follow up on so keeping them disconnected would probably be best.

Normally I'm head-over-heels for Tsunderes and everything, but the whole hippie/flower child thing Damsel has turns me off.
If I were to pick only one female OC to return, it would be Pisha.
Male would be Nines, in case anyone gives a shit.
Bloodlines had a wonderful collection of internet girlfriends for all types: Vivi, Damsel, Heather, Pisha, Jeanette/Therese, and Ming Xiao.
Wrong decade. Lily is a hippie-flower childe Granola Girl.
Damsel is a 70s militant radical.
