The Warbands concept looks great. It should make it enormously easier to maintain a stable of alts.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Sadly it only hosts up to four characters at the moment it seems, compared to the total of six characters I actively use in Mythic Dungeons and the sort.
You're misunderstanding.
Warbands places all of your characters on a World of Warcraft account, across all realms and subscriptions, into a single collection. Achievements, transmogs, most reputations, reagents, and most currency are shared across all of them.
The fact that you can only assign four at a time to "hang out" on the Character Select menu is just a cosmetic element.
AFAIK you won't be able to assemble a solo dungeon party consisting of your alts.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Ah, looks like you're correct. Guess I misread a few details.
Alpha has begun and information floodgates have opened so heads up on spoilers if you're dodging them.

World of Warcraft: The War Within Alpha Update Notes
I have a lot of thoughts but they are mostly specific to the classes I main. Some broad changes that are being made include removing most melee range-extender talents. Several specs are getting their resource generation tuned down a little to reduce overcapping and GCD-locking.
Balance Druids are losing Primordial Arcanic Pulsar and getting some other tuning to make the spec less reliant on timing windows. I will wait for the simulations and theorycrafting to come in before I make any firm declarations about how these affect build diversity.
A welcome change to Professions is the elimination of Inspiration, which resulted in some unintended effects in how crafters and customers interacted. Instead, there will be a regenerating Concentration pool that lets you craft at one rank higher when you spend it, and the replacement Ingenuity stat will give you a chance to refund spent Concentration.
Looks like all Professions will get new skill trees, so whatever you did in Dragonflight won't carry forward (duh).
Alchemy is getting Flasks back (yay). Phials will stick around but will only be usable by Alchemists and can stack with Flasks.
Fishing gear is going to become Fishing Accessories and no longer provide stats. I'll have to see what this looks like in practice.
Alpha talent calculator is up on Wowhead.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Dragonflight Season 4 start!
Bah, doing these chores for "Last Hurrah" is going to be a pain with how time-gated many of them will be.
Agree. Trying to finish up "The Last Hurrah" on multiple toons is kind of insane.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The others won't be much better. Collecting Dreamsurge is also going to be a needless, unintuitive time sink, and I just absolutely hate Suffusion Camps in every way.
Christie Golden was laid off back in January, losing us one of our game writers and our main expanded universe writer. She asked Blizzard to not make the announcement and let her do it on her own time due to losing her nephew to cancer less than 24 hours later and needing time to deal with that double-whammy, hence why we're only finding this out today.

Oh wow, for me Christie was the best part of Warcraft.
She does say that she'll continue to work with Blizzard, just not as an employee, so I hope she continues to pen books for them.
Edit: okay I've seen the Harronir being data mined and damn I'm glad to see the missing link between Trolls and Nightelves explored. I really hope these end up being playable for both factions I can't wait to see their lore.

Oddly one of the things I look forward to the most despite being relatively mundane is cross-realm compatibility for all guilds. Namely, so that I can transfer to an EST server after joining a CST server by mistake but still having access to my old guild, which I've been attached to for both friends and a compatible raid schedule for myself.
